So now that I started looking into to people approval around me has freaked me out a bit because some have been approved before me and some have been approved after mine but still waiting...

Does anyone know if the country that your applying for effects the wait time because I think India is a high risk one so wondering if I should prepare myself for longer time.... :clock:

***editted*****

I know we are lucky to get this fast approval waiting of two weeks and I should hopefully hear something soon. I just started getting nervous.

I've been wondering the same thing. My fiancé has Pakistani passport which is probably high risk, although he was born and living in Saudi Arabia, which is what embassy will handle our case and this embassy is not high risk. Though both countries the US considers as terrorist countries so I also wonder if there will be a longer delay for a more comprehensive background check that other countries. That should be at a later stage, however, and not at the service center.

I feel the same as you because there are so many approvals with NO-1 dates after mine... way after mine. My petition was received the August 7th and has a notice date of August 11th. I am feeling nervousness as well.

Though like ckibs has stated, the service center should primarily be concerned whether or not the case meets the basic requirements.

Hello Everyone,

I'm an August Filer, I'm happy to see how fast most cases are being approved. I was actually expecting for the interview to take place sometime in december given the 5 month wait time on the website.

I want to be there for the interview so it's looking like I will have to reschedule my flight. No complaints though :)

Thought I'd contribute by putting my dates up.

8/20/2015 - Mailed out I-129F

8/24/2015 - Arrived at lockbox (actually arrived on the 22nd but I guess they don't pick up on saturdays)

8/27/2015- NOA1 e-mail and text notification. Sent to CSC,

9/1/2015 - NOA1 hard copy by mail.

8/20/2015 - Mailed out I-129F

For those wondering about their NOA2 dates. What does the VJ timeline estimate say for you guys? Don't look at other cases that have been submitted after yours, look at the estimate. We filed our petition very early in August and we saw many many cases that filed after us being approved already. But VJ's estimate was on point.

I highly doubt that the country of the beneficiary has anything to do with it. Background checks occur at a later stage, so that can't be it.

I know we all want to be together with our partners asap, but be patient. Waiting 2-3 weeks is nothing compared to what others have/had to go though.

Best of luck to everyone.

You're absolutely right! :)

The NOA2 is not required until such time that you file your AOS packet after you are married in the US.

This has been verified through the K1 instructions located at the US Embassy Brazil's webpage. Link is below.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with. This will allow you to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to take at the US Embassy - Brazil. Sub-forum for Brazil is located here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassy's around the world and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through Brazil. VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in the Brazil and the processing of your visa is where you want to be. Link:

http://brazil.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas_kvisas.html

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

Good luck and God's speed.

Thanks Greenbaum. Hey is NVC sending something with the MNL number? I don't think my fiance is that patient to call NVC and ask for it being on hold for minutes! Yes, he can be that impatient. I just plan to email and ask for my MNL maybe after 3 weeks, while I am in California. Your thoughts please.
