We got our NOA2 hardcopy in the mail today. Hooray.

Thanks for your response Greenbaum. I am aware about myUSCIS but I was just wondering if the status updates again once the NVC receives it. But we'll just call them up in a few weeks and get our updates from them directly.

I'm not sure which is my actual NOA-1 date. The letter I got in the mail says received date August 07 and then at the top it says notice date August 11. Still have no news of either NOA-2 or even an RFE. It seems many with NOA-1 dates well after mine have been approved. I don't know how long I should be patient before calling them about my case. Do I call CSC directly or do I call the National Customer Service Center?

The notice date on the hardcopy is your official NOA1. Remember to update your timeline and on there you can see an estimated date for NOA2 based off of similar and recent cases.

The "normal" processing time @ CSC is about 5 months so I would give it some more time before calling the service center lol

There's a difference between the received date and the actual NOA1 date, which notice of action date does it say on your hardcopy?

I never started demanding or saying it's my right. It is a privilege that we are all benefiting from here. I can't even imagine how the poor people who got stuck waiting at Texas are dealing with that. I would say it's their right to have their petition reviewed before ours. We are very lucky. Of course waiting is hard. And it's even harder when others are getting approvals before you. Though I'm glad to see it going quickly for everyone.

Thank you, I was always confused which was my NO-1 date. Because the case tracker is telling me my case was received on the 7th, while only the hard copy mentions the notice date as the 11th. I had the same thought about the 5 months "normal" processing time and surely they would't expect me to wait that long to get an answer about my case because they know their turnover is much faster lol.

And I just updated my timeline (although I had to change my date of sending the I-129F. It gives an error if it thinks the time between sent and NOA-1 is too long). Now the estimate is extended until August 4th so I feel relieved.

We got our NOA2 hardcopy in the mail today. Hooray.

Thanks for your response Greenbaum. I am aware about myUSCIS but I was just wondering if the status updates again once the NVC receives it. But we'll just call them up in a few weeks and get our updates from them directly.

People are saying that they really like the phone app and that they are getting regular updates. This is a good tool to use. Link is in my signature page below with details. It saves you time because your not on the phone waiting.

You can start calling NVC around 10 - 14 days after your NOA2 for the case number. It will take approx. 1-2 weeks for them to process. Also, continue to monitor CEAC as it will update when your case has left NVC for Germany. After that update USCIS is pretty much out of the picture.

You can start gathering your documents that are required from the Packet 3 found here http://photos.state.gov/libraries/frankfurt/9318/consular_pdf/Instructions%20for%20IV%20and%20K%20Visa%20Applicants.pdf

I recommend to you and anyone else here that there is better information gained in the sub forum for your Embassy. You see, a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you. Once you get your approval, you should move over to your sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to. Someone in this thread here, is applying for various Embassy's and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for the Germany.

Good luck on your journey and keep asking questions when in doubt.
