Please is anyone in my shoes from the same country. I have been going tru this pain and its just depressing that even as of now no interviews yet. I just want to share my situation and determine if anyone is in my shoes and what to do. My case was completed July 29 2015 and i became a u.s citizen as of July 4th 2015. My case was upgraded to cr1 before case complete. The real situation i find myself is my wife bacj home in Nigeria. She is pregnant and in her 7 month. They day my case was upgraded i was jumping for joy hoping by now my wife wil already have an interview date. If the baby is born before the interview it becomes a different case. I really dnt know how this will play out.i made reaearches and i was told i wil hav to get a CRBA for the baby which from previous research i heard in lagos almost took 11 months to get it done and hav another interview. 5 yeara i hav been away from my wife and only been able to visit 3 times and the longest i could stay is 3 weeks bcos of the nature of my job. I hav never been so depressed in my life. I dnt know if anyone in VJ is from Nigeria and in the same situation because this is the only forum that have helped me come this far with this process...her expected delivery month is Oct and us likely this interview might go past it. What do i do. My wife cries evryday over this and absolutely dnt know what else to do. Please any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone,

Please tell me if I am worrying unnecessarily. Our interview is tomorrow and ceac status still says "in transit" .. I tracked our case from the NVC so I know it is there and has been signed for..but I am very concerned that the ceac status has not updated. I've emailed the embassy and tried to call them this morning but have had no luck at actually speaking to a human.

I am so worried my husband will go for the interview tomorrow and be told they can not find his case. I know from searching last night that this is not unheard of for the Tunisia embassy

I sure wouldn't worry about it. Unless you get notice to reschedule just go to your interview.

So let me ask you have you asked NVC for an expedite or no? Even though pregnancy doesn't normally warrant an expedite unless there is trouble with pregnancy it sure doesn't hurt to ask. CRBA doesn't take that long. But the issue is now for your wife that she probably is way to far along to even travel. Most airlines will not allow a lat trimester woman to fly. All depends how pregnant she looks. She would have to have a permission from a doctor to satisfy some airlines. Some just will not allow it.

You could surely state hardship on your part and not being there for birth of your child get letters from her doctor, all this you can be waiting while you wait. Because in reality I am afraid you are probably looking at a November or December interview. Since there are still people with June CC's for Lagos still waiting.

Call NVC today and get the ball rolling soonest.

Yes i did ask for expedite but it was rejected. I didn't think i stood a chance as pregnancy is not really a reason but it was just an email away so i gave it a shot and it was rejected. Right now all I'm just counting on is to get an early interview if she do get it i can get a doctors permission and look for an airline but all that i doubt will happen with the present situation at NVC interview scheduling. You said CRBA dont take long. Do you think the baby qualify for it in my case? And even if i get it on time can i get the interview anytime sooner? Is just one in many questions i really dnt know how to go about. On the interview day if she goes with the baby will they ask her if she wants to go along with her visa interview or go get the baby document? Any ideas? Thanks for your response

We're not getting through to a supervisor even though our case is under supervisor review and has been so for 56 days, I doubt they'll put you through with a question about interview dates. :(

Keep asking until you get results. I know some who asked 3 and 4 times and finally NVC said yes. Get better evidence.

How about asking these questions to the main forum for a wider audience so you know exactly what you need to do and what will happen.

I would post in the http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/6-us-embassy-and-consulate-discussion/

And ask does your baby qualify for CRBA. How long does it take. and any other questions about it.

After searching online about working conditions, I think NVC is an organization not treated the way professional organizations should be treated. Employees are treated like factory workers rather than officers. There is no union to protect them.

If they aren't treated with professional respect, how would they give respect to people's files from all over the world they get absolutely no incentive for?

We often think that Canadians should be given preferential treatment being a good neighbor, or employment based cases that already have all the clearances needed before should get preferential treatment, or your spousal case should get preferential treatment because you are a spouse of US citizen. Or some other reason.

But reality is, we are all just one of the millions of files sitting in their shelves of aliens who don't matter much. Politicians and lawmakers aren't really pro-immigration anyways.

Anyways, end of my mumbo jumbo speech. Good luck everyone! You will get interview dates. I guarantee it! Now smile :)

NVC is run by contract employees by the government. They aren't even government workers. When I was going through back in 2012 they started with government workers and they were so much better than this lot than summer 2012 they changed to contractors and the"I don;t give a flip" attitude came in.

Oh well.
