I have just a general question. I'm going to visit my husband in September because it'll have been 6 months since I've seen him but I was wondering when he eventually does get an interview date and gets his visa, can I go to Jordan and take a flight back with him? Or do I have to be in the U.S? I'd rather be in the airport with him when he reaches the U.S.

Any thoughts?

I am planning on doing the same thing. Our case got expedited and mostly likely we will have an interview either in August or early September. I am leaving next week to see my husband and if all goes well, we will try to get a ticket for him on the same flight or change mine and get a joint on a different flight.

A lot of couples have done so.

What might cause the problem is if you were to be living with your spouse in the foreign country, your spouse gets the visa, the spouse leaves and you stay behind.

But traveling with your spouse together is all good, and probably much easier that way anyway.

Hope they start scheduling Sept interviews next wk. We have a CC of July 13th. I know Mexico has a delay of 2-3 mths for interviews but just seeing that others waiting before us get their interviews, give me so much hope that ours will soon come. Good luck everyone. Come on August! :)

Hi there, you can absolutely do that. There's no rule or law against it. You are free to travel, even if you are in immigration process. I have visited my hubby a three times in the States and he had visited me a couple times in the Netherlands. He had absolutely no problems whatsoever traveling abroad.

Approaching 60 days this week. I hope this month brings my interview date. Good luck everyone.

Great, thanks so much for the response!

While we're on the topic, what are good reasons to get an expedite? I want to ask for an expedite but I can't think of anything=/ I just don't think it's fair to have to wait more than 6 months just to get an interview date.

Anyone?

Your case can be expedited for interview based on two main reasons that I know of: (1) emergency medical situation of which you have to provide a letter from a medical doctor, and (2) you are a member of the US Armed forces deploying overseas and you have to provide your deployment orders. There can be other situations which would be at the discretion of the US embassy or consulate to either approve or disapprove.

I can't really go into the details that much. All I can say is that was mix of few reasons, that unfortunately all happened in a 30 day span.

I also believe that our embassy is not that busy in regards to the immigrant visas and were willing to take on the expedite. I am not saying that we didn't have the reason, but if we were in Jordan embassy, like Morgan said, not sure if we would get expedited

That's just my 2 cents

All they have been saying is that the Embassy has to schedule an Interview now and provide us with a date. Reps din't give any further information to me.

dwheels76, please help if you can, I'm freaking out a little bit. My interview is coming up on August 20th, and I only have a scanned copy of my husband's divorce decree from his previous marriage. My divorce decree from my previous marriage is fine - it's original and apostilled, but neither my husband nor his ex-wife have an original of this document, and neither of them are in the country to request an original. Will it be fine if I just take the original of my decree, and the scanned (not certified!) copy of my husband's decree?
