Did she say when they will start on October interviews?

She didn't say...She only told me what the previous rep told me, that they are waiting to hear back from Juarez. So I guess all we can hope for is that next week they start :clock: I'll keep you updated if I hear anything.

Hey group!

Having seen the misuse of this group of words a LOT over the last three years, please allow me to explain the correct usage here.

A CONSUL is a noun. A Consul is a PERSON - an official appointed by the government

A CONSULATE is a noun. It is the place that a CONSUL or CONSULS work.

CONSULAR is an adjective. It describes something that a CONSUL does - as in: She (the Consul) made a consular decision about whether or not to grant the visa. The word "consular" is never a noun.

When you go to a Consulate (or Embassy), you speak with a Consul.

I'm guessing that I will have to fill out a new I-864 for myself as well as my co-sponsor. My case has already been completed, so do I need to send the new I-864s anywhere or just bring them to the interview?

Just bring the new one to your interview.

Can I ask why did your case took almost 2 years to process?

Sure :)

In the first year it was all excuses and delays (like everyone talks about here). The second year was spent dealing with four RFE with the 1-864 ( I basically was resending the same document refilled out) and then my husband called on July 22, 2015 quite upset as to why we had not heard anything since the latest submission in March, 2015. He talked with a supervisor and within 4 hours he called my husband back with a case complete but apologized for the submission not even being looked at. Since it has been such a long process and we have done everything by the book, we did not want answers for the delay but results.

Meh....

All you need consular or consul or consulate is for a few times in life. And then you move along in your life. Most people never even need that. I wouldn't worry if it is embassy, ambassador, consular, consulate, consul..

Sure :)

Wow.. That is still extremely insane.

Why would you need a new i864 if the one you submitted was recent?

Generally speaking, a new i864 is needed only if the one you submitted to NVC is in a prior year, changed jobs, or if you submitted AOS before the current tax year.

Unless, Montreal has specific requirements I'm not familiar with.

Mine was submitted in July, 2014 which is why I completed a new one for this year for the interview for two fold reasons; last years form was expired and I needed to add the most recent income tax document.

It is not grounds to deny a visa but it could be a reason to be given that dreaded 221g slip and I just don't want any more delays in our highly delayed case already :)

I am guessing this does not make a difference: Since this CR-1 process has dragged on so long, my husband and I have now been married two years. ( On August 1st) Since out interview is the end of next month, does this change anything? Or are we still required to wait the one year, 9 months to go through the removal of conditions.
