u mentioned not to touch the link when waiting for ds261 to be reviewed.... I touched it by mistake and it opened again ....when I sign in again... still it shows as COMPLETE. is there anything I should do because I touched the link?? Coz I submitted DS261 and still AOS fee is not showing payable ... evenue I cant sign in the payment portal link. Did u resubmitted ds261 because of this or other reason?

About resubmitting DS260, this is what happened to me. I submitted mine on Feb 28 upon email from NVC with my case number. Then on May 8, I received a checklist asking me to submit DS261. I resubmitted and called NVC about it. She 'scolded' me for resubmitting it before calling. I asked if that had placed me back in the cue, and she said 'no.' A week later I received my IV fee invoice and things continued as normal, until the glitch. So, for me there wasn't any problem in terms of delay for resubmitting it. Also, I just checked both confirmation pages (for DS-261) and in fact the confirmation numbers are the same on both pages, only submission dates are different. Hopes this helps lessen your worries.

Ok thanks but did u get the AOS fee available for pay directly after u submit ds261 on first time after a week or it delayed because u touched the link?

Can someone please advise......we were informed a month ago that we had a ref, the gentleman told me that a letter had been sent out on the14th of last month! as of today NO LETTTER NO EMAIL.....So i called AGAIN lastnight( which took forever) and he tells me that it was never sent it out!!! REALLY who does that...? Anyway he claims that a letter would be sent out and told me he could not give me a direct time frame of when i would get it ( a week, may two or a month) Now come on ....it dont take no whole month for a letter to travel with in the U.S!! then he tells me that he would send an email......im on the phone "wating" while he on the phone and he tells me i would not get it "right then"....i guess its going to take a whole month for an email to to get to my inbox....any can someone please give me some insight on what to do??? dont mean to vent but i feel like they are not taking our case serious and that bothers me.....

I got it before, after submitting it the first time.

Finally, after being stuck at the NVC since April, we finally got a case complete on July 31st :)

Now, another ~60 days wait for an interview.

That is great news, glad to hear you made that big jump now for another jump.

No, no it's not an issue if it still says COMPLETE. Just don't touch it before the DS261 gets reviewed! When I touched mine, it no longer said complete. you should be fine :)

Your case number should available around 12 days from when NVC received your petition.

Supposedly NVC had a backlog last year, see here: http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/AILA/AILA%20NVC%20November%202014.pdf

Thankfully it appears to be better now.

Thanks so much Shams! Eye-opening and informative. Friday makes my 2 wks so I'll try again then, or call them next Tuesday again. But they are processing a boatload off apps still 17,000 per wk..incredible.

Excellent, you are moving real fast. Looks like you are going to be the record holder soon. Your experience is giving me hope, I hope.

I received a case number 3 days after you, so hopefully I will be able to be where you are Friday or latest Monday.

Thanks for sharing your update and looking forward to hearing more positive updates with your case.

You are welcome. I was happy to find this resource to get an idea of what is going on. While we can't vouch that all that the NVC says is correct, it was good for someone to put some pressure on them to give some answers as to what in the world was going on with all those delays.

Requested a supervisor review on July 10, 2015.... still waiting. I have talked to two supervisors so far with the same response. No they can't help, we just have to wait for our case to be reviewed in a supervisor que.... so frustrating.
