I am not aware of that. It is my understanding that you can schedule interviews for K1 visa's but with IR1/CR1 visa's we are at the mercy of the Embassy. I think we may be able to request a different date if available. I think NVC is the party who will schedulethe interview.

That may be it. I know I've read where you can call to see if they've scheduled it or not because sometimes they are behind about sending the email.

I am the petitioner, he still lives overseas

found each other August 2009
started courting December 2010
first held hands February 2011
engaged June 2013
married May 2014

Most recent update: Interviewed on 05-OCT 2015. Approved and visa in hand!!!

Hi katze101,

Thank you for replying.

May I ask why you got a checklist? I'm kind of afraid myself.

Was still getting info together for the DS-260 but thought it'd take awhile for them to look at our case so went on and emailed the packets. Then had trouble getting it to submit for a couple days, got the checklist for the DS-260, then was able to submit it. Now we're in the NVC black hole.

Also got a checklist for not sending in W-2 but I don't have one because I work overseas and just have to explain that at the interview.

Got a checklist :(

e-mailed them what they wanted (court case records). Is there is a chance they might send another checklist for something else, or do you think this is the only thing?

My guess is that's the only problem so unless they have a problem with the checklist docs, you should be good. It's just a waiting game... It seems they're taking longer to respond to checklists :(

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting - have been a major lurker but thought I'd actually participate finally lol.

Oh no canuk2usa - hopefully it won't delay things for you too much.

I filled in my DS260 on 2 August and we sent in the documents a few days later (I believe it was the 4th). We received the DS260 confirmation but only got a checklist on the 11th saying the reviewed our documents and asking us to renew my passport before my interview. So not exactly sure what our scan date is, but seriously hoping we hear something early next week, especially with so many people on here getting cc in 3 weeks :(

Have you checked online or called about a CC? If you just have to bring the new passport to the interview, it sounds like NVC is done with you!

I've been checking the website pretty much non stop for the last week and we only have the two N/As. Not entirely sure where the three N/As are supposed to be for it to be a cc, but guessing the case isn't done yet. Might try call next week if we haven't heard anything.

Yeah I'm driving myself crazy with worry about getting a checklist.

I don't think you should. I also have my Mom's case complete at NVC right now, waiting for the interview date. They did send me the check list with the request to bring all the missing papers to the interview. Voila!

Hi Nicole_1228,

For me, it was available 12 hours after they reviewed the DS-261 on the phone with me. Is this what happened to you?

Hi katze101,

If your documents are done reviewing and the only thing missing is the DS-260, I would try calling and trying to explain that to them. I was stuck in NVC hell for 15 days... The reps who take the calls usually cannot do much, but when we finally managed to talk to a Supervisor yesterday, they fixed it within 30 minutes.

I think I might get a checklist too because my husband filled his job title in the i-864 differently than it was in his employment letter - something that Saylin said on her guide that would surely cause a checklist. I feel so bad about it now - I don't know why I did not check it before I sent.

So I'm pretty sure I screwed something up on I864ez form. It was the dumbest mistake in the world... filling out incorrect income.

My question is, should i send in a corrected i864ez and document cover sheet before they send me a checklist?? Or do I need to include the checklist (which I didn't receive yet) for them to make corrections?

If you guys have any questions specifically for me,

I will be glad to help via private message.

I think I also made a mistake...left blank physical address....the new i864ez has a question "is your mailing address the same as your physical address" YES NO...I checked box YES....then it says if you answered NO to item number 3 provide physical address below......so I left it blank....maybe should have put N/A...but I think it is clear that if I answered YES...both mailing and physical address are the same....

Did the income you put on the form covered the 125 % poverty guidelines which is about $19998 for a household of 2? If that is the case then I will just sit tight and wait otherwise you can call NVC to see if they want you to submit an updated I-864ez
