I'm sure the -20 days trend will continue as it seems the NVC has been picking up the pace in August.

If I have to give advice on organizing the AOS/IV package, make sure to...

1) Organize everything in the EXACT order that is listed on the Checklist cover sheet.

2) Provide labeled tabs dividing the "Financial Documents", "Supporting Documents", and "Other Documents" sections.

3) Include cover sheets explaining the contents of certain documents. For instance we provided cover sheets for my wife's police certificates, birth certificate, and our marriage certificate... basically explaining any documents that require English translations and apostle.

4) Included documentation for my birth certificate, passport, passport size photos, and relationship evidence all under the "Other Documents" section and included a cover sheet explaining the contents in this section.

5) Write your case number on the top right of EVERY document that you are sending in (excluding the bar coded cover sheets)

6) And of course don't underestimate the power of prayer!

Wow!! 17 Days huh?? Amazing stuff! More power to ya!

Hi everyone!

I just updated my timeline ????.....My husband was finally able to travel to Lagos to get his police certificate, which caused the delay in me Sebring my packet sooner ( but better safe the sorry with and RFE) I've finally sent my AOS& IV documents today , I'm so glad to to b done with all the steps. My experience with NVC so far has been great and fast!!!! I guess i have joined the waiting for SD/CC and interview appointment crew?

Hope these last steps with NVC goes rather quickly, when should I expect a SD/ CC or interview based on others experience?

No update to the case today, called NVC we are on day 18 so I've been thinking Monday will be our day. I really hope so!

I wonder how long an appointment takes for the consulate in Croatia. i haven't seen enough members from there to compile any statistics.

I am the petitioner, he still lives overseas

That would be good. It would be a very good indicator of what to expect at NVC.

I saw someones timeline where it took NVC 4 days to assign a case number. I am all for reduction in time.

Alas, the wait for the interview may be the most stressful aspect of this whole thing.

mine's been locked since 08/19/15 and I'm getting the same information! I just don't understand how suddenly some cases are just locked and no one knows anything.

I just got off the phone and I could hear the rep asking someone how to get it unlocked and it seems like they literally don't know.

Kamw!

My husband just managed to get my daughter's case unlocked! :joy:

I called in the morning - the lady discouraged me and told me to wait 42 days. Then my husband called at lunch time and they said 30 days. He didn't want to call today again but I pushed because I realized that only talking to a Supervisor would help. I'm glad I did.

We rehearsed together and had a game plan  :

1) He would call - we've noticed that he's usually way better treated than I am when we call.

2) No matter how cranky the person is, he would be as courteous and kind as he could be.

3) If the person said anything about 30 or 42 days, he would say that on the NVC website, it says that the Choice of Agent does not take longer than 15 days, and we were already past that.

4) If they said anything about it being locked because a person was working on it, he would say that it looks very odd that someone has been working on it uninterruptedly for the last 15 days. She's an eight year old. There might have been a mistake.

(All of that happened indeed).

5) The rep agreed, so he asked if he could please speak to the Supervisor to see if they could get it unlocked.

6) The rep said she would talk to the Supervisor herself - she put him on hold - when she was back, she asked to call again in one hour and the case would be opened again.

7) He did that, and it was! He went through DS-261, and my daughter's IV fee already looks from "NOT INVOICED" to blank, which is exactly what happened to mine after we reviewed DS-261.

I feel so relieved now. I was so afraid we would get a checklist on her case (I already sent the documents, so they'd probably checklist her for the IV fee and DS-260) and a checklist would represent at least one more month of wait.

Can you still call tonight? I'll be praying for you!

Anyone here with EP case??

Hi Mm15,

I sent it through EP too. Today they said they have received my documents, but they never replied to my email acknowledging it.

Have you been waiting for your documents to be reviewed for 51 days? When was your scan date?

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting - have been a major lurker but thought I'd actually participate finally lol.

Oh no canuk2usa - hopefully it won't delay things for you too much.

I filled in my DS260 on 2 August and we sent in the documents a few days later (I believe it was the 4th). We received the DS260 confirmation but only got a checklist on the 11th saying the reviewed our documents and asking us to renew my passport before my interview. So not exactly sure what our scan date is, but seriously hoping we hear something early next week, especially with so many people on here getting cc in 3 weeks :(

Welcome to the forum.

Did you mail or email your documents? So it looks like NVC does review some documents fairly quickly after receving them.

How long was left on your passport if you don't mind me asking? Mine expires in about 18 months...that shouldn't be an issue should it?

Hi Shams, thanks :) we emailed them in. Yeah, we were surprised they reviewed them so quickly!

Hi Nicole, I had three months left on my passport. They stated you needed at least 6 months on your passport so you should be all good :)

I feel like I read somewhere that once you get CC you can start calling your consulate yourself about an interview time? Did anyone else see that on here?

I think that's a great checklist to have. 6months before expiration is always requirement for any visa issue.

Re: my checklist, I'm hoping they have reviewed all documents (AOS & IV) before sending this checklist, hope they don't send another checklist.

I am not aware of that. It is my understanding that you can schedule interviews for K1 visa's but with IR1/CR1 visa's we are at the mercy of the Embassy. I think we may be able to request a different date if available. I think NVC is the party who will schedulethe interview.
