Hey BRlove, any news about updating the misspelled name from the NVC?

No, my husband is calling them every day and they're horribly dismissive about it - saying "Oh, it takes a while. Don't worry.".

However, there was something that gave me hope. I was filling in my DS-260 two days ago and some fields already came filled in (like my name, my husband's name, our dates of birth). On them, my first name was already correct.

Did you notice something similar in your DS-260?

Oh. Actually they have misspelled the petitioner's middle name in my case. When I called them 2 days ago, they told me they are not very concerned about the petitioner's name. All they care about is the beneficiary's name. But they will update it as soon as they would receive a copy of my husband's passport, which they did that very day. Let's see. I guess I will call back today and ask. :)

This is one part of this phase that really upset me. UCSIS will issue an official letter saying they have sent your petition, knowing good and well that is not always the case. I had to call a tier 2 supervisor at UCSIS to confirm my petition was sent to NVC. Because I was wondering why hasn't it reach to the NVC as yet.

They sent my petition, over 2 week later. Some are unfortunate and their petitions are sent like 5 days after which is good.

I could suggest you call and just request a tier 2 supervisor right away, no questions asked.

After they send it, it will take about 7 days to reach to the NVC.

Case Complete 25/08/2015!

In just 19 days!

Very nice. Your experience is giving us much hope.

If you call, and inquire [and ask to speak to supervisor] I feel like they are more likely to address it quicker. May be a coincidence, but the day I finally talked to supervisor about the hold up, I got an update that it was sent to NVC,

Any expedited cases here?

So on 08/25/2015 I decided to email an expedited request.

I figured even if CC is done in 20 days I'll have to wait at least 1-2 months before an interview date is assigned.

I haven't gotten a response back at all from NVC or the Consulate (if they've even emailed it to them)

You guys think that's normal? Or should I email the NVC Expedite email again?

It is normal. It can take a week or longer for them to decide.

I would suggest checking with NVC to see if they did mail the Consulate.

Ours also took a little over 2 weeks for the NVC to receive it. Have you called USCIS and asked which date it physically went out?

Sure it can take a week or so ... but at the embassy stage.

Per your suggestion, I just called and the lady said she can't even see if the expedite email was received.

She said to wait 5 days just to see what the NVC will do with the email (aka when they respond acknowleding the receipt of the expedite email)

Does this sound accurate? I've seen other posters on here get an email confirmation within 24 hours saying to allow time for embassy to review expedited request.

Based on what I understand, when you e-mail NVC they will review it and then send off to the Embassy. Some of these Embassy are saying they are slammed, backlogged etc. Of course I don't too subscribe to that notion that they are so busy but so they claim.

I would think the Embassy would take about a week to follow up. Some are quicker but on average I would think at least 7 days.
