Can we staple individual forms like I-864, Tax returns, pay checks etc. and then put the clips for all together. I heard the word NVS scan and I did not hear from anyone on this topic regarding stapling. Please suggest on doing stapling the individual group of pages within a form like I-864 etc.

Thanks.

Your best bet is to call daily.

I received an email when USCIS sent the case because I signed up for email update from the login online (not the form you submit with the petition)... but I didn't get any email about NVC receiving it. It took 8 days after USCIS sent it (not approve it) for NVC to get it for me.

How do we get to know the case is received by NVC. Are they sending an email? Or I better call?

After uscis sent my case on August 10th, nvc got it on the same day. It does not take many days for the package to travel.

However, nvc will say they "received" your case only when they scan the package. That takes a few days or even a week. My scan date was August 14th.

It did not take more than a day for my case to go from Nebraska to New Hampshire lol

If you guys have any questions specifically for me,

I will be glad to help via private message.

I think they use carrier services in between the agencies. USCIS sent me an update that my case was sent to NVC on August 10th and the rep at NVC told they physically received the file in the building on the 10th but it was scanned on the 14th and the case number was available on the 21st . Now waiting for the fees to be available. As of this morning no invoice yet. Maybe it will be available on Monday if not later on today

I do NOT recommend stapling anything whatsoever. Officers will have to remove all staples, so please use paperclips instead. Staples are annoying to remove and time-consuming, whereas paperclips are easy and fast. Put yourself in the officer's shoes, about to review YOUR package. Would you rather remove staples or paperclips? ;)

Hello Gazala, I will have my interview at the Bombay consulate too and my scan date is 12th of August. :)

So, scan date is the date the NVC received your documents. So your scan date will be 6th of august.

3 N/A's show up on your CEAC website account when you log in. The AOS and IV fee that are showing right now as "PAID" will change to N/A, same with the IV application(DS-260).

CC stands for case complete. The NVC will review all your documents and if everything is fine, it will complete your case. Hence, you will get a CASE COMPLETE, after which the NVC will schedule your interview in Bombay. :)

Hope that was helpful. :)

Hi everybody !

We have filled the DS261 this morning and also paid the US$ 120.- (status of payment: In Process)

I´m getting my civil documents, these will be in spanish, and I know the must be translated.

But y question is: Is neccesary to use the Apostilles for every page of my civil documents?? (as I did when we send our case to the UCSIS).

Does anyone from South America or any where can help me?

Thanks in advance !

Hi Jovi, I'm from Perú also, but still I'm waiting NOA2. PD 03/24/15.

I was reading about civil documents and I think We don't need apostilles of documents. Just must be translated

"Translation Requirements

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:

Translation is accurate, and

Translator is competent to translate".

"Technically, according to the requirements, no, you don't need translations. HOWEVER, I highly recommend getting translations done because I have seen people at NVC get checklists for non-translated documents"

Well, If I was wrong let me know, i will still looking.

Regards

Diana

Hi Jovi, i found this link http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/policy_updates/National%20_Visa_Center_No_Longer_Collecting_Original_Civil_Documents_November_2014.pdf

Summary: The National Visa Center (NVC) will cease collecting original civil documents in support of immigrant visa (IV) applications as of November 12, 2014. Most applicants will be required to submit photocopies of supporting documents (such as birth, marriage, and police certificates) and will be instructed to take their original documents to their interviews for review. This does not include Affidavit of Support forms, which petitioners will still submit to NVC for initial evaluation.

Hi Diana! It's great you're from Perú too.

Thanks for the information, I have read about it too but at this forum I have found a lot of information and I was confused, so yesterday my husband called to NVC and they told him that all civil documents (I mean beneficiary's) must be copies, not original, because we will take the originals to our interview in Lima.

Also, we don't need the Apostilles either the translation... weird isn't? Then my husband insisted with the same question "are you sure civil documents don't need translation? " and they said: yes, no translation because the interview will ve there (Lima)...

So I am preparing the civil documents to send to my husband...
