K1 Visa interview and US fiance being present

I received e-mail and text that my petition for fiance was approved and the letter will follow. I expect that my fiance will have interview in 2-3 months from now and i have bought ticket well ahead to travel there next week to see him and spend vacation together. From what I know I don't have to be there for interview. Has anyone been allowed to be with their fiance at the time of interview , would it help the case if I go or are there any latest requirements for US citizen to go and be present ? I am unable to change my ticket reservation and cannot get time off from work again for later this year. I have seen him and spent time with him every 6 months for past 2 years . What are your Experiences with embassies?

Consulates handle visa applications, my one did allow USC's, some do some do not.
