HI everyone. I am a physician and applying for my wife's k-3. What I am wondering is what are the required documentation for this? IN most the countries, outside the US, this documents aren't easy to come, especially if it was 30 years ago. I know what MEDICALLY is done here in the US, but I don't know what they require there for the medical interview. For instance, Yellow Fever, TB and Polio are diseases NOT prevelant here in the US, o are not part of the vaccinaation schedule. Also fater certain ages, you've lived past rubella, mumps, influenza, and some others. So are our family required to have these vaccinations even though they would be pointless, so to speak. What about Hep B? Or even the new HPV that they're trying to push on kids? What I am getting at is each country has it's own vaccination schedule ("procedure"). So who's schedule will needed to be followed? And since most everyone is spouse of fiance in this forum, they're out of harms way for these other vaccinations. Also what kind of blood work do they run? CBC? HIV? Hep B, Hep C...etc.. DO they deny "carriers? previou infection? Chronic infecetion? inactive carrier? active carrier? This medical could F%CK a lot of people, because TB or Hep B are everywhere, but could be inactive. But a PPD test will show this positive. And there are a different time window titers for Hep B. Sorry for the confusion, but it just ain't clear.

In the Philippines, these are the shots given to visa applicants.

1) Measles, 2) Mumps, 3) Rubella (3-in-1 shot)

4) Varicella

Shot that is required but not available in the Philippines

5) Td - to be received in the US

Shots that are not given to adults as they are not age appropriate

6) DT/DTP/DTaP

7) Polio (OPV/IPV)

8) Hib (Influenza type 'B)

9) Hepatitis 'B

10) Pneumococcal

11) Influenza

An alien is ineligible to receive a visa if he/she is determined to have a communicable disease of public health significance. The CDC lists eight (8) communicable disease of public health significance, namely:

(1) Chancroid.

(2) Gonorrhea.

(3) Granuloma inguinale.

(4) Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection.

(5) Leprosy, infectious.

(6) Lymphogranuloma venereum.

(7) Syphilis, infectious stage.

(8) Tuberculosis, active.

If visa applicant has history of TB but has since been treated, he/she is eligible to receive visa. Hepa B carriers are also eligible to receive visas. CDC states that "HBsAg-positive persons should be considered eligible for migration and adjustment-of-visa status and they should be counseled and recommended for follow-up medical evaluation and management in their U.S. resettlement communities.”

Hope this clears up some of your concerns.
