I have been hearing this Buick or Chevy commercial for it seems weeks . . . and every 5 minutes or less . . . the one where it plays "Here to the Chief" for the President's Day Sale. . . . President's Day was celebrated on Monday, wasn't it???

Oh, NO, it is on again!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh . . . . . DONT buy a TAHOE!!!!

LOL, I should but I seem to use it as background noise and do other things during the commercials IF I am actually watching a show that I like . . . that particular commercial seems to POP right out of the TV while it raises the noise level a bit.

So, yes, I know I am a bit of a TV addict, hehe!! I also spend too much time on the internet! But this wasnt supposed to be a discussion on my addictions!

Doesnt anyone else have annoying commericals they wish would be ditched?

What about the caveman commercials for Geico? Bleh!!

It's how business works. It's understandable that it may be intolerable to many people. If I own a TV network, I want make deals with lots of companies that will make me a lot of money and it's within the boundaries of FCC regulations. That's what I want to do. If you want to stop those commercials, then stop watching them and write letters to the TV networks. If a lot of people write to them, maybe they'll change.

There is a car dealer commercial that is played way too often on our local station where some guy that looks like the stereotypical car salesman is super excited about the new sale they have going on there where you biy half the car for a certain amount and then get half the car for free! its retarded.. drives both me and DH nuts... Who the heck is gonna buy half a car anyways..

I understand totally about how business works . . . . I've had discussions ad nauseum with co-workers about how the "sales" people always sell a load of BS and the "tech" people (who actually make less money and work harder) have to deliver on these C*** promises.

I know the world appears to revolve around marketing and if you hear it enough then you might believe and buy!!

I also used to watch MTV back eons ago . if I subscribed to all the behaviours you see on those videos, I would have probably been dead from exhaustion and drug over doses by now.

I think I have control of myself . . . just cant stand the continual barrage and sometimes it isn't so easy to just "switch off" . . . it is surrounding you in the malls, in the stores, in the elevators, on hold on the telephone, in the bathroom at work (I swear . . . the place that I went to in OHIO had rock music playing in the bathrooms . . . actually enjoyed that for a change from musak) . . . watch out for subliminals, hehe!!

I think I need to tune out and turn off now!!

Nope, doesn't bother me at all. We don't have TV here. It's a choice, we could get cable if we wanted. I just chose not to. All the things I want to see I get on DVD (commercial free!) or watch via the internet.

This way I don't have to watch any #######.
