Im finding this very confusing as to what vaccines I need. Hopefully someone can help. I want to get them done locally if possible, since it will save me some money.

Iive seen the lists on the CDC website of the 15 vaccinations. However I cannot find the list that tells me what is age appropriate or how to tell.

Im 39 years old and here is what I do have;

DTP (1976 MAY, 1976 JUNE, 1976 AUG, 1977 JUNE, 1981 SEPT)

M --1977 JULY

MMR--1981 aug

OPV--( 1976 MAY, JUNE, AND AUG) 1977 JUNE, SEPT 1981

Td-IPV -JUNE 1994

so thats my records if it helps, how do I determine what I need. ALSO if I vaccinate now and dont get a flu shot but adjustment of status OR interview happens in flu season do I need to get it.

Met online in jan 2013 became exclusive Feb1

Hi, missingmyguy,

I just looked into this for myself, Dr. Cheema in Vancouver lists the required vaccinations there.

I think you would have to get a seasonal flu shot if your interview ends up being in flu season, yes.

Thanks I found this for ages 27 to 49....my interview I think will be october so ill just get the flu shot at my medical.

I had chicken pox so doubt I need varicella, and I think it looks like I just need Tdap. ?

Tdap (Adacel or Boosterix) - ensure you get Tdap not just Td

MMR Measles, Mumps, Rubella. ("MR" and "MM" are not enough. You need MMR)

Varicella - If you had "Chicken Pox" disease, no vaccine is needed

Influenza (only required during October - February,

Absolutely correct. I did my medical in Sydney (but still the same requirements), and those were the vaccs or immunities I needed.

MMR, Varicella, Influenza (it was start of flu season here so I got it anyway), Tdap.

Have your family doctor do a blood test to check for chicken pox, then u will get a print out stating that you are immune to it.. this is covered by OHIP. I lived in Toronto and this is what I needed to show. Get this done now so it will be one less stress for you.

MMR

TDAP ( this u get every ten years )

Varicella ( since the blood test showed I never had it, I had to be vaccinated, got 2 shots, one month apart and it was not covered by OHIP )

Hope this helps.

If you've had chicken pox you just give a verbal declaration and a date. I said I had chicken pox in 1978 and that was good enough for my medical.

Tdap is needed for most applicants, because you should probably had it only as a child (if no any more accidents happen), and it's only valid for 10 years. So I choose to redone it during my medical.

If there is no proof of MMR, you will have to redone it too. When I went to GP for first time, nurse didn't want to give me any vaccinations, but during medical examination their nurse gave me letter asking to give me MMR vaccination, so I will try it again .

For varicella they just believe verbal proof , though I have scars from it and childhood photos covered in chicken pox :D

Influenza it's just seasonal stuff
