Tomorrow I am getting my police checks done. Im confused though, as there are a few types. Now I have no criminal background, but is there a difference between a criminal record check or a police certificate. Bottom line is what do I ask for tomorrow when I go in to the RCMP office? Im in Canada.

Met online in jan 2013 became exclusive Feb1

Met in person Sept/ Engaged in Oct 2013 never wanted to leave each other.

Returned to visit July 31 2014 till Oct 2014

started our K1 VISA process...October 2014

K1 noa1 Oct 6 Texas.....now the wait begins...to start our journey together.

NOA2 email notice Approval May 14/2015 yay!

interview oct 28th 2015!

VISA APPROVED!

Anyone have a suggestion??

I didn't do fingerprints...I went online and fill out a form and paid the fee..Got a confirmation that they will send me an email when the police certificate is ready for pick up...7 days after I got the email and I went down to college park police H/Q and picked it up...that was it.

Since I have never committed any crimes or was never arrested didn't feel the need to do fingerprint.

My police certificate that I got was good enough.

Thanks! I went to a local RCMP detachment and got a criminal record check. They did not charge me a fee either.
