ok guys, I'm really stressed. We requested the tax transcripts by mail because the online request does not work at their website and we also changed the address which we also submitted . It's been 2 weeks now and we did not hear anything. I'm filing on September and I have one more month for this.

Does anyone know a phone number that I can reach a human at IRS?

You have 2 options

1. Call IRS and standby a fax machine and after verification, they can fax it to you..

2. Walk into your local IRS office and they will print it off for you. No appointments necessary

You can also visit your local congressman's office and they will get it for your in about 4 days.

I had a funny story with mine. First I went to the IRS office and met the most obnoxious excuse for a government employee in history. He wasn't an IRS agent or anything, he was a security guard, and he basically said "I don't care if the sign says open until 4, it's 2:30 and we're not going to serve you, now go away."

So I drove over to my congressman's office and the lady was very helpful and apologized for the fact that IRS are underfunded and don't have enough staff to help people. And I said to her in a nice way "Isn't your boss Tea Party and didn't he vote to slash IRS funding?" And she just kind of smiled because we both knew that politicians often have to talk out of both sides of their mouth.

Anyway, it took her about 4 business days to get it. It seemed like a routine request they handle, mostly from people looking to prove income to finance a house.

Not sure of their number. But what we did was walked in to the nearest IRS office, they printed it for us right away.

I think that I will just go to the local IRS office and ask them to print it. However, we filed joint taxes with my husband (I am the beneficiary), will they print it for me even though he is the primal person on the tax returns? (I don't know how to describe this better). My SSN is also there.

I called to schecule an appointment and the lady on the phone was super nice she faxed everything to me . That saved me so much time.

I hope they asked you a fair amount of questions to confirm your identity before faxing, with all of the problems they had with their online tax transcript request fraud.

I'm not saying anything against you, just saying that I hope they're not handing it out like candy as easy as I made your statement out to be.

Yes, She asked me like 10 questions and insist that I was in font of the fax machine while she was faxing it.
