The K3 only allows her to get back into the U.S. with no problems.

You'll need to check if she can travel on those cruises with a Pakistani passport. Not sure what the requirements are for Carribean cruises.

If she would normally need a visa to visit those countries then she will need to get a visa now still. The K3 will allow her to re-enter the US no problem, but it won't gain her entry to any other country.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

*Sigh* that's the problem we are having :( in planning our trips.

Since she will be traveling on the passport of her native country, she will need visas that are required by people from that country. You have to individually check the "entry requirements" for Pakastani's for each port that you are going. Good luck (F)

Wow that's a bummer.

I guess it's good I didn't book the cruise already! I get overexcited sometimes.

I will look into this now and will post back here, in case others are in this situation in the future.

Thanks for the quick replies!

Ok. Big bummer.

Looks like a visa is required for Pakistanis going pretty much anywhere - Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, etc.... UNLESS you have a green card. And that usually takes a year or two, right? There goes my vacation plan. But I'll stay positive - after all anyplace will be fun if my wife is with me! But I guess it's now time to think of a Plan B for a honeymoon. Anyone have any romantic ideas in the U.S.? :)

The other option would be to work on getting visas after she gets here, but that would really push the timeframe out farther than I'd like.

Thanks all!

I hear ya!!! I really wanted to go to Mexico for our honeymoon (well, honeymoon after the ceremonial wedding anyway). We can't make any plans like that since my husband entered on a K-1 visa which is only single entry, and we have no clue when we will get his green card. We are probably going to then do cost effective Florida honeymoon and stay in my mom's place outside of St. Pete.

I agree with Riblet, you have Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Also the Keys of Florida can be nice.

I saw Hawii mentioned and Maui but there are also cruises that don't require getting off the ship--look under NO PORTS ----my fiance and I met on a cruise so it is only logical (to us-lol) that we will cruise for our honeymoon--we love cruising because everything you need is right there--just keep researching. If what you really want is to be together plus the excitement of the cruise experience it doesn't have to be the Bahamas right?

best of luck and congrats on getting the K3!

I wanted to take my wife on a cruise as well from Florida through the Bahamas. I don't know if I want to bother through the entire visa process for her entry to the Bahamas anymore. I believe you don't have to exit the ship at these locations, but it kinda defeats the purpose of these trips.

I'm going to start looking into Hawaii or Florida now.

We're pretty much in the same 'boat'. My wife is a Philippine citizen and we met on the cruise ship she was working on in Jan of 2006. Because of that I thought it would be nice to take a cruise together. After working in the cruise industry for 7 years it would be her first time being on a cruise as a passenger. I guess we'll have to stick to the Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico for destinations.

Married on 11/21/06 in her hometown city Tumauini located in the Isabela province (Republic of the Philippines)

What's wrong with applying for the visas... having a K3 would allow you to get them rather easily...

Robor007, what Zyggy said! You can apply for a visa for her to take a cruise and you won't have to worry about getting advance parole. Not sure what the denial rate of Caribbean visas for Phillipine citizens, but she'll have a great shot at getting one since she'll actually be resident in the U.S.
