Hello all! Congrats to all approved recently. Good news, we also got approved!

Our story: We submitted an e-request on 8/11/16 as soon as USCIS posted processing times for VSC indicating we were past the expected range. We had an 8/28/15 filing date and their website claimed to be processing 8/31/15, although we had heard nothing since biometrics. We received a response email from USCIS on 8/23/16 stating that we had been approved as of that date. We had also submitted a request to our senator on 8/12/16. We received an email from that senator shortly after hearing the e-reply from USCIS, although the senator specified we had been approved 8/19/16. Our case status on the USCIS website had not changed at this point. We received the official ROC approval letter on 8/24/16. It stated the approval date was 8/19/16. We finally received the green card in the mail on 8/30/16. Our online case status began reflecting these changes around the time we received the 1st official approval letter.

We were never interviewed or RFE'd. For anyone still waiting, I highly recommend submitting an e-request and also reaching out to your senator's office. It will force USCIS to at least look at your case. We suspect, but can't confirm, that e-request led to quicker approvals both during our Adjustment of Status and now during our ROC.

I just wanted to post this here in case someone searches for information. So we filed in CSC in August 2015. We actually filed a day late, but they accepted it and it never came up again. We moved right before we filed and we updated everything, but it took a long time to get an RFE where they mostly wanted proof that we moved together, which seems reasonable. I did respond to the RFE with what I could and in October we got notice of an interview appointment for today 11/03/16. I did bring additional evidence as instructed so I printed all new bank statements, utilities etc since the RFE, got passport style photos, pictures, etc. They never looked at any of it and spent $15 dollars on passport photos we never used. The interview went well and took about half an hour. She was very nice and asked basic questions about dates and verifying information like how we met, when we first saw each other, my previous marriage. She did ask about money transfers before we got married and though it looked weird. We explained it was a joint account with Chase, he sent his own money we both had access to and that is what we mostly used to pay off debt before marriage and prepare for life here. We paid for our wedding in full with that money etc. Once she realized it was a joint account, she was okay with it. Nothing else was asked much, just what we do for work. She approved us. Just took forever to get to this point. I guess we got lucky this whole time without interviews or RFE, but once we got to the ROC stage, we got it all.

Onto citizenship now.

Finally received the car in production notification 5 months after everyone got approved. Talked and emailed to the representative multiple times. Finally they received an answering Friday  from uscis that an officer had my case.  today received an email from uscis that my card went to the production. 

Good luck to all who's also waiting this long for no reason.

It has been 18 months,, it was only now after contacting our congressman and US senator have we gotten a notice for an interview. Has anyone else had to go through an interview for an ROC?

I am still waiting,also 18 months.I sent in my letter to the Senator few weeks ago,did not hear back.I sent in e-request,the automatic reply said I will hear back by February 7th.I also called USCIS two days ago. They transferred me to Tier-2,she said that there is no updates,she doesnt know why I am waiting this long,and she has seen cases waiting for up to 3 years.She said I should wait to hear back from my e-requests,she said that they do send it to local office,and someone from local office will reply to the e-request.So I am hoping if someone at my local office sees it,they will actually look into my file that is collecting dust on their shelf. Maybe they will decide "hey lets look at this application this poor lady has been waiting so long" ahahh I can only hope and picture it in my head that this is what will happen. I dont care even if we get invited for interview or if they request RFE,anything at this point will make me happy lol

 

I will post here once I get reply to my e-request.It will not surprise me if they say you are still in process,no updates,make infopass. This is what they told me back when i did e-request in October 2016.

 

When is your interview?

 

I have read here on the forum that couple of people did get invite for interview while in ROC.I think all of them get approved,bring more evidence just in case.Please let us know how did the interview go,I have a feeling they will invite us too.

No I didn't have to go the interview. After I got my passport stamped we immediately contacted with our representative and kept in touch until we heard from uscis. 

I wouldn't expect anything different from the regular interviews tho. How did you met,where do you live, what's her/his phone number,family members names etc.

I am still waiting.The Senator representative contacted me that they made an inqury on my behalf and they will let me know when they hear back.Its been a month now and nothing.

 

We are moving to another state in 3 months.Do you guys think that will prolonger my case?

 

My case is currently at local office here in Baltimore so when we move I think they will have to transfer the case to the new local office.I am worried this will make the proccess even longer.

 

I so hope I get it before the move.

Since my ROC NOA (one year extension to the 2 year conditional residence) is expiring next month, I made an infopass appointment to get an I-551 stamp on my passport. Got it today without any hassles. Status extended for another year.

The clerk at the counter said that the latest case status was "Pending Transfer". I guess after they transfer the case to the local office, there might be an interview.

It is very hard to get infopass appointments at the Fairfax VA (Washington DC) USCIS office. The only way which works is if you try early morning (around 6am), you will likely get a slot 14 days from today. Otherwise, at any other time of day, it shows no available appointments.

I received my interview notice last month and the interview was today at the Fairfax field office.

The interview went very well.  The officer was using a sign-language interpreter since the officer had some kind of a hearing/speaking disability.  But the officer was extremely courteous and nice.  He said that my petition had contained enough evidence that an RFE wasn't really required but the officer who marked the case for RFE probably didn't go through all the evidence.  He asked me about the relationship and how it went south and was satisfied with my answers and even showed some sadness at the divorce.

The interview lasted about 20 minutes and at the end of it he told me that he doesn't see any problems and the decision will be made soon after a background check.  He said the file will go back to the Vermont Service center and the card production will happen there and that I should expect the approval letter within a month and the actual card within two months.

It was a good experience and at no time was the officer doubting my sincerity.
