My card was mailed out on 06/14/2016 and was out for delivery on 06/17/2015 by local USPS post office ... and they have lost it. After going back and forth for several times, they have finally admitted that they have lost it and cannot track it. I called USCIS and they require me to pay $450 for a replacement card because it was not returned to them as undelivered. Anyone else encountered similar issues or any suggestions on getting a waiver?

So I made an appointment with local USCIS via InfoPass for next Tuesday. Would it cause any side effects if I get my passport stamped next week and receive the approval later this month? My biggest concern is my driver's license will expire in August and I'll have an international travel in that month as well. Haven't heard anything since I talked to the tier 2 officer and he submitted the service request for me.

Forgot to ask, can I use this i-551 stamp to renew my driver's license as well? I heard someone said local officer only stamps on passport if the extension will expire within 30 days. Maybe I'll have to reschedule the appointment when it gets into that 30 days.

So I called and spoke with a Tier 2 officer again yesterday and I was told that my case has been approved on 7th of July, just one week after I called the Tier 2 officer and he sent a service request for my case. And so happy to see the approval notice when I got home. Local office address printed on the approval letter.

I went to the USCIS My Case Status site today to access the processing timeline, thinking my husband's visa application would still not be adjudicated... Lo and behold: today his application was approved and his 10-year card went into production!!!! Finally! I was getting worried thinking his extension was about to expire and that we'd have to drive the 2.5 hours each way for a 551 stamp in his passport and then turn around and have to go back for an interview. Turns out we don't have to make the trip at all!

Best of luck to all you August filers who are still waiting... It's coming :)
