but you can't tell me these guys are well hearted people who just want to have a better life here in America. So do I!

Chuck, do you know any of them personally? I consider my husband and all of his friends to be very good hearted people. They come from a place where they had nothing. It's been hard for me to come to the realization that my husband's family lives in poverty, but they do. When it was the choice between high school and work, they picked work because school you have to pay for down there. I still am in regular contact with a lot of his friends who still work here in various restaurants and everyone loves them. Even my dad, who is one of the strictest judges of character that I know.

Heina,

You mean knowing an illegal immigrant???? God forbid, I can be associate with them, my fear of being linked to them while my wife still needs to go through the USCIS in the future is greater than most! Ah, poverty, I was a LEGAL immigrant in this country years before. Choosing between HS and work, I chose both! Working from 11PM until 6AM 7 nights aweek while I was still in HS (from 7AM - 3PM). Admit, my family from VN wasn't in poverty, but we were poor and got nothing when we came to America, legally. Here in the US, you have to pay for everything, the healthcare system here is brutal, the job market is competitive, justice system takes forever to get through, education is expensive, social justice, forget about it! I am still paying my college loans. So, telling me about poverty in other countries doesn't cut it, we have poverty right here in America Heina. What do we do about it?

The discussion has gone way out of scope. Stick with the fact I want to raise here: BOFA business practice benefits illegal immigrants.

"You always get what you've always gotten if you always do what you always did."

I will never understand the outrage and disgusting accusations made against people who come here illegally. The amount of time spent on this discussion, over and over, never ceases to amaze me, when this isn't how the problem can be solved at all. But no one seems to want to talk about real issues and how to fix things, people just want to place blame, scream ILLEGAL and FELON and MURDERS. Seems like people like to have a punching bag.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

Fine, let's talk about real issues.

"I had nothing so I had no choice or else my family would starve' could be said for bank robbery, murder, prostitution, etc. But it doesn't justify it.

Yes, it sucks...AND NO I'M NOT CALLING ILLEGALS any names, or saying they're murderers...I'm drawing a parallel

You can keep calling them felons but it won't make it true.

Mawwilson. what you fail to admit is that these ILLEGAL CRIMINAL IMMIGRANTS, DO NOT PAY into the system they take from.

I don't know if it's true.

An article came out in April of 2005 in The New York Times where, quoting the

Social Security Administration, it stated that illegal immigrant workers in the

United States were providing the Social Security system with a subsidy of as

much as $7 billion a year. "Yet unlike most Americans, who will receive some

form of a public pension in retirement and will be eligible for Medicare as soon

as they turn 65…" the undocumented immigrants will not be entitled to benefits.

Many illegal workers give their employers fake social security numbers, so

taxes are withheld from their wages just the same.

By the way one does not just get deported when found to be here illegally they usually is another crime committed.

On that point sir, you are correct. There is USUALLY another crime committed. Not ALWAYS. In our case, it was a situation of a couple of pissed off guys that were fired because they skipped a day of work. Therefore, they reported the restaurant to INS. At the same time, the owner of the restaurant was under investigation by the IRS because he had just gotten done purchasing a very large house and several vehicles with cash. There was a raid on the restaurant-and actually those kinds of things are becoming more and more common.

AWESOME I AM GLAD THEY ARE RAIDING RESTURAUNATS THAT EMPLOY ILLEGAL CRIMINALS who work without authorization, I hope this continues.

Ok lets say that those numbers are true 7 billion, ok so they 10+ billion per year they cost the US tax payers and govt.

That would still leave a deficit of more than 3 Billion / year.

There is no justification for it. The solution is Round ups Deportations and Securing the Border with a wall, national Guard troops, and sanctions agaisnt neighboring countries who fail to enforce the broder security on their side.

Unfortunatly these ILLEGAL Criminals Cry that their civil rights are being violated if they are not allowed to continue to break the law and reside here illegally.

It is An act of domestic Terrorism these Illegal Federal CRIMINALS are invading our nation, Ignoring our laws, stealing form our health care and schools, They are terrorists.

We don't need new laws to accommendate illegal immigrants or solve this issue. Rather spend our tax dollars on ENFORCING the existing laws which seems giving me and most of the folks VJ enough trouble of navigating through the system. Put them up and ship them off is NOT the only solution. Don't forget the children! They came illegally, give birth, guess what, those are anchor babies with US Citizenship right.... So much to enforce, so little time!

I agree , any baby born to an Illegal Alien should NOT be allowed to petition their criminal illegal parents, they should have to prove their parents were here legally when they were born if their parents were in the usa illegally at the time of their brith then no petition.

If parents are caught here illegally DEPORTATION they are welcome to take their anchor baby with them.

Probably.

Still, a drop in the ocean compared to the GDP or the cost of the Iraq war.

I seriously doubt that deporting all the illegal aliens living in the U.S. is going to

make any difference to our quality of life. Our society won't fall apart to be sure,

but it won't get perceptibly better either.

On the other hand, the humanitarian impact of a mass deportation on such a scale

would be devastating. Not to mention the actual costs of finding and deporting

10 million people.
