well, since yer still in the 'thinking' stage, check out instructables.com for more 'great' ideas.

ymmv, depending on the tools you have.

if'n it was me, i'd be using oil-field pipe using pipe-barn construction techniques. makes it easier to enclose it later, if and when you want to 'add a room' instead. but i have a welding rig and know what i'm doing. maybe HillBilly has welding buddies, and oil-field-worker buddies (who know where the pipe yards are, around yer locale)

I checked out that site will look at it more later.

uhm, nope. I don't keep 'stock' or multiples. I do keep various parts and pieces around, until a collection is complete or it's a garden workday, but I don't hoard. I rarely pick up something without knowing it's future purpose, but if I do (cause I'm required to 'take all' sometimes) then the stuff goes away via FreeCycle, within a week of acquisition. I don't let my spaces get messy at all.

Example - I collected 6 rolls of hurricane fence that was de-installed, 120 ft per roll, 50 inches high. plus about 90 fence-polls. plus about 90 sheets of D-Channel metal siding sheets. Once it was all there, I built a fence around the garden. #HoodRatProtection . But the span o time, start o collection to finished construction, was about 6 weeks. The concrete knocked off from the fence-poles went to another gardener, who uses them to cover stuff in _his_ garden.

My mother was a hoarder. The psychiatric sherrif called me at least twice a month during their wellness checks to 'help her out' when we lived in the same area code. No Thank You, Unca Steve.

Another example - I collected pavers and stone and bricks and paver pieces for about 5 weeks, then built :

1. extended driveway at a house, widened with the pavers

2. walkways in the garden space with the bricks.

so no, I don't hoard. #BiteMe !
