Yeah, (last years) in summer we have some really hot days.

This year is the worst so far.

We've been having 91-100'F for the last week and they say that it's gonna be that way for the next week or even two weeks.

At least in my region.

but but - isn't yer flat one of them old ones, with the 3 to 3.5 metre ceiling height, enormous windows? I thought without A/C, you simply opened all the windows and had fun with the breezies !!! at least at night, when yer actually home.

Yes, it's 3.4 meter high.

But it's been so hot outside, that the old walls got warmer too, so I've been having 81-85'F in my room :P

I'm trying to decide if I want to build a covered patio, or a pergola. The only other problem I have is that if I do it will be nicer then the rest of the house :P

well, since yer still in the 'thinking' stage, check out instructables.com for more 'great' ideas.

ymmv, depending on the tools you have.

if'n it was me, i'd be using oil pipe using pipe-barn construction techniques. makes it easier to enclose it later, if and when you want to 'add a room' instead.
