I can take care of myself! "Them Nipponese" capitulate pretty easily if you use the right technique. After London, NY it is a doddle and far less risky. (Mind you, I am 176cm tall...)

You are up making her lunch? What grade is she in?

1- how many whats are in 176 CM?

2- No, she eats gourmet school lunch lol. She likes to take a lunch bag with snacks in it to share with her little buddies.

3- First grade.

Not sure her dentist would approve ... So what does a school lunch look like in Brooklyn? Are you advised as to the menu at the beginning of the month , like here?

I'm making mine lunch this year because school lunches here are nothing short of appalling and without telling me they had been letting her just eat muffins for lunch rather than ham and cheese or another alternative. :bonk:

Sounds like the lunches here. Except my younger two were told they can't have their packed lunch and they needed to buy the school food.

They didn't serve a singly thing that my kids would have ate, the reason why I packed them a lunch. One of the many reasons we pulled them out of the schools here.

In NYC (as Trophie knows), different schools have different things. They throw a principal in there and she's like God.

In my kids school, they have a private company that makes lunches in like "TV dinner" style trays, the school heats it. The school has a nutritionist that oversees the operation.

Breakfast is provided for if the kids get there early enough. My daughter eats breakfast at home. And she's many times more fortunate than I was.

Those boxes that you saw in the pic that I helped move, they're between 1 and 200 dollars each. Inside, you'll find the same stuff at staples for 30 bucks, 25 if you catch it on sale. That money goes to the company, and some to the school. I'm on the board in the school, I'm going to motion that we fire this company for next year. I'm totally dissatisfied with the service. I want to still have the parents buy these kits, but eliminate the middleman.

The supplies in the boxes, altho they have a child's name on it, will be pooled for use in the classroom. Because of the poorer kids in there. It's a communist school, but a good school. I'll monitor how my kid is doing, when I don't like it, she goes to private school. So far, she excels.

Yes we do have a menu. Some schools in nyc have eliminated "halal" and kosher meals. Because if they have to keep catering to everyone, the kids will be eating nothing but bread and water.

NY state and NYC is pretty rich, so schools have the kind of budgeting that they need. It's too bad we have an idiot mayor that wants to spend tax dollars to settle lawsuits.

I wanna sue the city for recklessly spending my tax dollars. I want a refund.

The state owned schools here provide lunch (not the private schools).

Each month the parents are given a menu and the daily lunch info is provided- calories , percentages of fat, protein , the amounts of various vitamins, it is a real science. In addition. You can work out how to balance the diet with the evening meal.
