Handily made POTS quota, whee man.

Worst clear-weather casa-ward commute in recent memory, forgettable man.

Every driver in the state was on our route, crawl man.

Worst single-day clear-weather commutes in history, sigh and grrr man.

Barely returned casa-ward in time to mow backyard lawn before dark, frantic man.

Somehow achieved same in ample time, efficient man.

Even re-ran over most of front lawn, necessary after one day good grief man.

Even more growth foreseeable, sigh man.

Torrential rains forecast during the next Many days, sigh man.

Ought to just plow up all the grass, HOA be damned man.

Neighbors who rely on lawn services have forests in their yards, inexcusable man.

Got a ride in a really creepy taxi this morning. Yet another typhoon overhead, so strong winds and heavy rain at 10am. So hailed the first taxi I saw. It was a black Crown. The door didn't open automatically (unlike normal cabs here) and the driver was wearing a business suit rather than a normal taxi driver's uniform. He was playing "how deep is your love"... After talking to me and noticing that I could speak Japanese (he tried to take me the long route, but submitted when I told him the short route to my destination), he then said we weren't on a meter, and because the car was large I would get charged extra... What the???? Told him I would get out without paying right there and then if he was going to be a shmuck.

It was early, so I didn't bother taking his number plate and reporting him to the police. But honestly, I think if I had not have been able to speak Japanese, the idiot would have tried to have kidnapped me (temporarily ). A lucky escape. And , I must add, so rare in Japan.

I can take care of myself! "Them Nipponese" capitulate pretty easily if you use the right technique. After London, NY it is a doddle and far less risky. (Mind you, I am 176cm tall...)
