not bad of having fellow Filipino friends though, but it's your call, you just need to choose who to trust and to be with. Not bad too if you attend Filipino parties once in awhile, it's just depend on the group you go to with. They can also be of help when you need one. Esp when things turn negatively like if you are experiencing abuse from your husband and you don't have family around, you can always have somebody to turn to.

I guess no matter if it is a Filipino or American friends, just be careful who you be friends with.

I bet the party part also happened to others not only to filipina group in the USA. I agree with someone who said its your call.

If you have Self-discipline and self-respect no one can influence you to do such thing as bad.

Yes, I agree. I heard Indonesians have some groups too. I saw their pictures on Facebook (shown they are drinking, partying, and smoking). To be honest, my husband and I don't like party, don't drink or smoking and sometimes we got invitation from my husband's co-workers. We did not go and my husband will make excuse that I can't go to a club because I would get headache from cigarette and alcohol.

One of my friends who went to the party told me how bad they were acted. They talked bad things about other girls who married to Westeners. They judged others from looks, clothing, cars, and how ugly and old someone's husband. I feel fortunate don't live in a place where many Indonesians because I won't join any groups because I knew where things would ended up.

What do these guys expect though really? That these women are marrying them for their looks and charm? Give me a break. I'm sure very few of them find their partner sexually attractive if not downright repulsive. It's an unfortunate reality. I was extremely picky when finding my mate. I spoke to dozens of women and found a girl with the same values and age range (31 and 30) as myself and couldn't be happier.

I have seen numerous young (young I consider age 26 or less) girl marry older guys. Older I consider 55 plus.

I have seen the majority of them stay together, have children, live a happy life, I have also seen a few that cheated on, or got divorced.

It all boils down to the character of the girl....

I'd bet it's close to the normal 50/50 rate of divorce in the states...

New data suggest since around 2000 and beyond new marriage have about 66% of no divorce.

From what I have seen in the last 8 years and I we don't have a lot of Filipinos in my area of Texas, I would say the divorce rate is around 25% in my group of friend
