What evidence do we need for AOS interview?

Hi everyone!

We got our AOS interview date for April 3rd and now I am really nervous?

What evidence should we take? We have a few photos of us together and I have a letter from my employer in UK saying I was expected back to work there.

WE also have a few bills in both of our names. Is this enough? What else would we need for evidence?

Also do we need to take another form I-865 with us? We originally submitted one with the original application.

THanks for any help! We're so nervous!

Kate

Kate the letter lists all the things you need to take... passports, birth certificates, copy of all the forms you filed, tax returns, Vaccination Supplement if not already filed, Marriage certificate etc etc...

You also need to take evidence of joint living.. utility bills in joint names, joint bank accounts, insurance showing you as included, photos of you both, 401K showing you as benificery, mail addressed to you both...

As for the I-865 you only need to take a new one if there has been any changes since you filed...

Good Luck

Kezzie

Good morning, Kate! Take a deep breath, think positive thoughts and let it out. Many people (myself included) are waiting on their interviews and we're quite nervous too. But don't worry, there are plenty of very experienced and helpful members of VJ that have valuable knowledge and the power to say 'don't worry!' :P

Congratulations on your interview. Here are a few suggestions that you should take for evidence:

~ Anything listed in the I-797C (IE: the interview "letter"). That means ID, passports, I-94, etc.

~ Marriage certificate (original and a photocopy) - for you and your spouse.

~ Divorce decree (original and a photocopy) - for previous spouse(s).

~ "Proof" of your relationship:

o Joint lease or mortgage agreement

o Joint bank account statement

o Void cheque with both your names on it.

o Letter of good standing from your bank.

o Joint utility bills

o Utility bills addressed to the same address

o Joint car title

o Joint insurance policies (health, medical)

o Insurance where spouse or you is listed as the other's beneficiary.

o Medical insurance card (with both names)

o Renter's/home insurance policy with both names

o 401k policies

o Credit card statements

o Junk mail addressed to both or to your address

o Cards from: each other, family, friends, associates -- for: holidays, special days, get-togethers, events.

o Envelopes from cards or letters addressed to you both.

o Veterinary clinic info (if both are contacts/"parents" of an animal)

o E-mails between you and spouse

o Calling records between you and spouse

o Notarized letters from family and friends stating you are a couple known to them

o Poems, letters, scrapbooks or any other mementos made for/by you and spouse

o Wedding photos

o Wedding plans

o Photos of you together, you with family, him with family, both with friends, etc.

o Travel documents: itineraries, photographs, ticket stubs, etc.

Relax - even though you need to take everything that people have mentioned - don't worry too much about it. The interviewers seem to be interested in only one or two things. From what I have read - sometimes they are only interested in pictures; sometimes only in the support papers; sometimes in the I693 - In our case he was only interested in bank statements, utility bills (both names); health insurance card, credit card (her name.) Rest of the stuff was quite genric - how did you meet; name of parents, date of births; address where you live; are you a terrorist/communist/spy/etc. etc. Good Luck
