I have a question (I guess that much is obvious)

My fiancé lives in Norway, and I just applied for the K-1 visa earlier this month. We're hoping she gets her visa by mid to late summer (of 2007).

My question:

If my $170.00 processing fee check was just cashed by the USCIS, can I assume that my application was accepted? This seems too easy......

As well, I sent in my application package on the 6th of February, do you have an idea as to when I should be receiving a receipt from the USCIS?

It means they received your application and they will begin to process it. It does not mean anything has been approved - that will take several months and then your fiance will need to to be interviewed. You'll get a receipt shortly.

Like was said, its not THE approval, its just the acceptance, now they review etc, hopefully find it complete, then approve, then NVC, then interview stage

Thank you for the question. I do understand how you feel. When I first came to this site I did not know what to do. It took me over a month just to post my first question. Remember everyone here is here for the same reason. We have someone we love that is not with us and we are trying to get them to us. Yes I am and thanks! I just had to wait for the hard copy of the NOA1.
