No I haven't read that book and will not waste my time doing so. It is unfortunate that this author is incorrect.
Wow... I know we all (well some of us anyway ;) ) like to point out what's wrong with the US but at least we have the freedom to do it. I hate Islam, Alah, Egypt, al-Azhar University, and President Hosni Mubarak the dictator!!!!! Ahhh, that felt good! :P

EDIT: Don't worry Mr. Bush... I still hate you too you bumbling chimp!!

You're free to believe & say whatever you want. Just wanted to let you know that Allah is the Arabic translation for God. Do you hate God?

I'm not sure of Robor's religious beliefs (or lack thereof).

But for you (m&n): have you ever read Ergun Caner's Unveiling Islam?

Reason I ask is because Caner (a Turkish muezzi's son) states that the Muslim's "Allah" is NOT the same as the Judeo-Christian Yahweh (Hebrew)/Jehovah (Grecified form).

Criticizing a president.....especially the characters running the world these days......is completely different than criticizing a Prophet in a cartoon.

The blogger was well aware of the atmosphere in his country and the consequences for his actions. Judge it how you like, fact remains it should have come to no surprise.

Yet apparently people in other countries have no right to speak about Islam. Remember the cartoons.

And how exactly does your comment relate to mine?

My point was in relation to the comment about the blogger being aware of the atmosphere.. The same thing occurs with so many people of Muslim beliefs who migrate, by their choice, to western non-Muslim countries and then get offended by our way of life. I have a theory about that but I won't go into it.. Cough Cough.. imperialism by means of immigration..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Notes:

  • Only Muslims consider Muhammad as "prophet" (not recognised this way even by Mormons, or Hindus)
  • To date, no Muslim has protested about the blasphemies made against Jesus (such as "Last Temptation...")
  • Muhammad is dead, grave still occupied
  • If you think that Joseph Smith or Brigham Young (both considered as LDS "prophets") are not criticised (even in US), you would be totally wrong

So why is criticising the long-buried "prophet" of one religion, in a country where that religion is NOT in a majority (and is also NOT where the majority of that religion live), wrong?

Jews, Christians, and Muslims all believe in one God, but it doesn't follow that it is the same God. Christians believe that the one God is three Persons -- The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is God in the flesh; fully Man and fully God. Islam explicitly denies both the Trinity and the Deity of Christ. Therefore, in spite of them both being monotheistic, Islam and Christianity simply do not believe in the same God.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Also, (and m&n would be well-advised to take note): Arya Samaj Hindus are also monotheistic, and hate idols--but they have no more connection with the Biblical God than the Vedas (which they use as their basis, disregarding the Puranas, etc.) have with the Bible.

(Arya Samaj is heavily represented in RSS/VHP/BJP top-cadres, though most of these are NOT educated in the Samaj's "DAV" system)

For Dean: Jews believe in the same God (as Christians), and even implicitly in the trinity:

Yes.. Judaism today is not quite the same as the religion of the Jews before Christ came. When Jews rejected Jesus as the Messiah (not all Jews, of course, since the first Christians were themselves Jews), they had to redefine Judaism in some ways in contradistinction to the teachings of Christianity, just as similarly they had to redfine it to compensate for the destruction of the Temple.

Maybe God was a Mackem.

Eh, no one will get that

Actually, the meaning is that God made man a spiritual being so that they (humans and God) could communicate spirit-spirit (or soul-spirit, for oversimplification).

(and no, I don't understand the term "Mackem" either)

Actually, it is the same God....the One Creator. Not all Christians believe in the Trinity because this idea came later.....well after the life of Jesus. The idea of the Trinity was added to later versions of the Bible....it was not included in the original Biblical text. That is why Jewish, Muslim, and many Christians do not believe in the Trinity....but they still share the belief of having 1 God.
