After watching this board for quite awhile, I've heard of legitimate couples being called into interviews, but even that's not very common. Sometimes interviews happen because evidence is questionable or insufficient, and sometimes interviews happen for random quality control purposes, so there's no way to 100% guarantee you won't have an interview.

I have heard that their normal procedure is that they never deny an I-751 without first calling the couple in for an interview.

I have heard indirect reports of divorced conditional LPRs filing individually after a very short marriage and not having enough evidence to support approval. Approval seems to be significantly more difficult if you do not file jointly.

I have not heard of a couple posting here who claimed to be legitimately married, filed a joint petition on time, and yet had their I-751 denied. Maybe it happens, but I don't think it happens often enough to worry about much.

Think of it as though you were given the job of uncovering fraudulent couples. Which would be less effort for a fraudulent couple to fake: a child or a shared utility bill?

There are plenty of married couples who don't have bills together. Different couples in different life circumstances will naturally have different sets of evidence, and you don't have to have all of the things listed as examples. Your life circumstances have given you plenty of evidence that you are a genuine married couple. Relax.

A child is excellent evidence. Especially if you document things well enough that you leave no doubt that you're sharing the responsibility and you are a family together. If the two of you are going to prenatal appointments or childbirth classes together, you might want to document that fact (ask a doctor or instructor to write a note attesting to that fact). Take photos of the two of you together during pregnancy, and a photo of both parents with the new bundle of joy. Obviously, have the father's name on the birth certificate.

The worst that's going to happen is they might call you for an interview, I don't think that's likely at all, but I don't know their inner workings. When they see the three of you together as a family, you won't have a problem with the interview.

Make sure you have plenty of pictures of the two of you living together, cellular phone companies WILL place bills in BOTH names, keep copies of US Post with name/addresses addressed to you both, open a joint bank account (even if it's only with $10), keep copeis of jointly filed tax returns, if you have health insurance .. copies both cards as they should have the same account number, if one party has life insurance (even if through employer) make sure spouse is the beneficiary and photocopy beneficiary page, try opening a Blockbuster Video Account in BOTH names and phto copy documents ... there are many other things you can do / create so DON'T go into a panic mode (at least not yet)!!!

Good luck!

AND Bad Credit is NOT a facto for the USCIS! AGAIN ... DON'T WORRY!

Don't worry about utility bills. You will be approved based on the evidence you cited. If it makes you feel better, have your hsuband execute an affidavit explaining his situation and etc. While it's not the thing anyone would want to do, it explains all the things you talk about and there isn't anything that prevents that (you can provide any evidence you like). After that, all your other evidence (and especially your child!) will result in a positive finding, so again, don't worry about it and just let it all happen as it will...good luck!

I have heard indirect reports of divorced conditional LPRs filing individually after a very short marriage and not having enough evidence to support approval. Approval seems to be significantly more difficult if you do not file jointly.

What do you mean? if they file their own taxes it's more difficult? I'm confused.. sorry :P

No, I think you're confusing filing taxes with filing the I-751. I was talking about possible problems if someone tries to file the I-751 alone. This would only happen after the end of the marriage, due to divorce or death of the USC spouse. A fast divorce increases the suspicion that the marriage might not have been bona fide, and a short marriage also provides less time to gather evidence that the marriage was bona fide.
