I visited Venezuela a few years ago for a cpl of weeks, back in 02. Beautiful country, great people... mis-direction of the masses by the ruling classes. Both, Chavez and the Rich alike take for granted the people that put them there.

The rich are just like the rich every where in the world... just want to get richer off the backs of the people that are "below" them. Sad that.

Chavez.. sure, he probably believes he's doing good... but not in Venezuela from what I saw there. Sure things have changed. Some, but I doubt all that much from what I read (both sides btw) and from my friends there that both support and hold out against him. Building housing for the poor is a great idea, actually accomplishing it is an awesome endeavor... building it way the frell out in the middle of nowhere so that any and all tourists, visiting dignitaries, businessmen, investores don;t get to see them is hypocracy since trying to hide what every country has.. poor people, impoverished people... is ludicrous. He stays in power by playing on the fears of the masses that do not know any better. Currently he is training the civilian population as militia to "Throw out the Invading American Imperial Forces". I wasn't aware we were invading Venezuela at this time, nor about to. Won't even get into his daily 4 hour (mandatorily broadcast) "Hello President" program... eeesh. I hate an hor of my own president every so often.. why watch another boring a$$hat for 4 hrs a day?

South American people are very warm and friendly, more so than many I have met from so called first world nations. True they have issues too, but I believe the positive outweighs the negative. I wish them the best in all that they want to aspire to... but some people only aspire for themselves. Ah well... just another 2cents in a world where big money rules the thoughts and hearts of many.
