Shockingly and surprisingly, I just a text message about an update to my case. After my interview this past Friday, I was not expecting an update so quickly since the IO said 3 weeks before I could hear something back about my case. Be not dismay, God is always on time. After checking the update online this is the great news I have seen:

Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed

We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt Number NBC*. We sent a notice with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony to the address you gave us. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by December 23, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I received an e-mail just ten minutes ago to say my oath ceremony has been scheduled/the letter has been mailed. I didn't seem to have an "in line" message whatsoever (either through e-mail or the case status page on the USCIS website); is that usual? I suppose I thought, even if it was instant, it would show one status and then the other.

In any case, I'm feeling less jittery now regarding my 'possible' Social Security Number mistake, since, as written before, I'm sure a supervisor would have spotted a discrepancy when proofreading my N-400 form, had there been one.

Good news Berty...it seems they skipped that step with me also, it went straight to "we have scheduled your Oath ceremony"....no in line status change or notification whatsoever before that.

Not that I'm complaining...hope to have the letter in the mailbox soon.

I'm kind of resigned to the weather being less pleasant in Boston, but as long as we don't have another Winter like the last one (in which there was literally nowhere to store snow, anywhere, for months)! Still, it'll be festive, at least.
