Congratulations to all those who have been scheduled for your interviews, passed your interviews, have your oaths scheduled or have already been sworn in. Great to see this. As for me its a bummer and I cant even control how I am feeling right now. To think this would have been the stage where I am waiting for the oath but after my interview was cancelled I am right back to waiting to be re-scheduled for an interview. I am not sure what is the deal with me and USCIS. I have always been unlucky in this journey. So many bumps along the way that I cannot control. There is nothing I can do but wait but hopefully it wont be too long now. It does suck big time and I really hate it!

Yay. At least it is movement so you know that you're not forgotten. I feel sometimes that some of us fall into a black hole and our files just disappear on someones desk for a few weeks, months or even years. Hang in there. you're not alone in your frustration.

True. It is good to see signs of movement. But this feels like a glacier moving; it is cold and slow. We were hoping for movement that is more like NASCAR! ZOOM! I guess the good news is that we are in the final lap.

Is common sense too much to request? They do the background check for the LPR (and some of us were delayed for that as well). Doesn't common sense dictate that you RECORD what you discover at the LPR background check and then simply do a background check from the N400 application to the LPR approval? Why reinvent the wheel? Some may say that a few names were never fully vetted during the LPR process. Mine took almost 3 years to get approved. That is more than enough time to do a thorough check. Sorry to vent, but a process that started in 2007 should not take this long, especially when upon a cursory research of me (yes, I am easy to find on Google), shows all you need to know about me and my background. Let's just say that I EASILY stick out in Utah.

Birthday miracle didn't happen. Now waiting for a Christmas miracle but worried that end of year means less/slower work from government.

I had my interview today.

I arrived 20 minutes early and was called in almost exactly on time. Security and staff could not have been more helpful and courteous to all, this place is a model site for interacting with the public. The agent was very polite and friendly. She went over my application in detail. The only surprise was when she asked for my SSN card. I happened to have it on me but would not have thought to bring it otherwise.

The questions I was asked:

Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?
Who's the Commander in Chief of the military?
What are the two major political parties in the United States?
What is the political party of the President now?
Name three original states
Name a state that borders Mexico

English test:

Read: Where is Congress?
Write: Congress is in Washington

There were four "corrections" to my application: Business name in addition to self employed. The others I didn't understand, it was filling in additional information that was not required according to the instructions on the form, now that I have double-checked. At the discretion of the agent I guess.

Signed the documents and got an oath ceremony a week from now.

The only surprise was when she asked for my SSN card. I happened to have it on me but would not have thought to bring it otherwise.

That is odd, yes. I brought mine too, but never needed it. Then again I was never even asked for state ID, which I thought exceptionally odd, and although I was asked for my Passport, the agent never actually looked at it once it was on the table. I also didn't get asked to sign my photos. Huh!

Well done on already getting an oath date. In Boston we have to wait (and wait) for 'Final Approval'; I guess a supervisor has to proofread/verify each field of the full N400 form and has too many people there to do it on the spot.

From this moment on, I am officially a US CITIZEN!

The long immigration journey might be over but for sure it starts another series of life full of challenging endeavors and opportunities which we will encounter in our everyday living as a citizen of this country. I am so grateful that I've been a part of this family. I would like to thank each and everyone of you who in one way or another helped a lot in making this journey worthwhile.

I had my interview today and was approved

I arrived about 30 minutes early and didn't get called back until 10 minutes after my appointment time. The officer was polite but very serious and that didn't help my nerves any. He swore me in, took my GC, driver's license and social security card. He then made me read a sentence "Which state has the most people?" and then he asked me to write down "California has the most people" I wish I could remember the civic questions but I was such a ball of nerves that I vaguely remembered some of them. He then went through my complete application and had me sign a few forms and then told me I was approved:)

The officer told me I should get my Oath letter in about 30 days but I previously heard an officer tell another applicant out in the waiting room that there is an Oath on December 11th and he said that most people approved today should make it for that ceremony. Fingers crossed! I really hope to be able to be done with this whole process by the end of the year.

Shockingly and surprisingly, I just a text message about an update to my case. After my interview this past Friday, I was not expecting an update so quickly since the IO said 3 weeks before I could hear something back about my case. Be not dismay, God is always on time. After checking the update online this is the great news I have seen:

Thank you KASH, I believe I should get the letter by Friday or Monday since Thursday is Thanksgiving. I am overjoyed right now.
