Well, it's Official....I passed and was approved right then and there...what a relief!!

Arrived about 9:55 for a 10:30 appointment, made it through Security without a hitch, which is a good thing.

Sat in the Waiting room for about 10 minutes before I was called in by a very nice Female Officer, she was very polite and friendly. After swearing me in she proceeded to go over my application very quickly, from there she moved on to the Civics questions of which I answered the first 6 correctly...the whole Interview lasted maybe 15 minutes?

1) During the Cold war what was the main concern of the United States?

2) What is one reason the Colonists came to America?

3) What is one right or freedom from the 1st Amendment?

4) Who is in charge of the Executive branch?

5) If the President can no longer serve who becomes President?

6) There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

She made me read "Washington DC is our Capitol" and I had to write "California has the largest population"

Going over the app and questions took about 5 minutes and she handed me the N-652 stating I had passed the Civics/English test and the "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval....the rest of the time she asked me to write down German greetings and Holidays and include translations for some kind of Greeting board they were putting together...seemed a little odd to me but I did it anyways....(has anyone ever heard of this?)

I left the building about 7 minutes after my scheduled appointment time.

Bottom line is the worst is over and I'm looking forward to seeing my status change and receiving my Oath letter.

For all those still facing the Interview please don't fret over it...as long as you know your application, have studied the Civics questions and have a good grasp of the English language you will be fine!

I will be keeping my Fingers crossed for everyone here and if I can help in any way please let me know.

That's awful. If Lawrence is backed up that much then they should move you to Boston or Albany or somewhere.

I agree, that would be the optimal thing to do. However, I am starting to consider the possibility that it may have nothing to do with USCIS. The USCIS Policy Manual specifies that, "The FBI name check must be completed and cleared before an applicant for naturalization is scheduled for his or her naturalization interview." It could also be the case that I am still at the name check stage. I will get in contact with the FBI tomorrow to check on this hypothesis.

As for going over the form, I take it I don't have to memorise the exact dates of trips made outside the US that I wrote; I put a couple of weeks in the UK for both 2013 and 2015, but don't want to have to commit the exact dates to memory.

Actually that never came up wih me Berty....I haven't left the Country in 20+ years, all she wanted to see was my Resident Alien Card.

We haven't moved & it is Nov 17th. At what point do you contact the office to say you haven't gotten your appointment notice? It seems like so many people got their appointment letters w/i 3-4 days after being scheduled. We don't want to miss the interview & we'd like to have more than 1-2 days to prepare! Anyone have a similar experience?!

Call USCIS and ask to speak with a tier 2 officer. Usually interviews are around 30 days from when you get this status change. you probably still have a couple of weeks till the interview date, but you should call today.

Call USCIS and tell them you have not yet received it. Make sure you talk to a tier2 officer and also ask when the interview date is. They should be able to tell you. Also ask what happens if you do not receive it.

I made a special request to a Supervisor to call me and conduct the interview as soon as the file gets there and she agreed. Now waiting for that phone call. File is in transit to local office. "On October 30, 2015, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC********. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

We haven't moved & it is Nov 17th. At what point do you contact the office to say you haven't gotten your appointment notice? It seems like so many people got their appointment letters w/i 3-4 days after being scheduled. We don't want to miss the interview & we'd like to have more than 1-2 days to prepare! Anyone have a similar experience?!

Similar issue here. My wife and my application (5 year) were progressing in sync. Both our online status's changed with the same Oct 30th message saying interview was scheduled.

My wife received a letter quickly. I didn't.

I called USCIS. Tier 1 read out the same status and transferred me to Tier 2 to try and get me a copy of the notice.

Tier 2 said - your interview has not been scheduled!

Kept repeating that. I tried to ask why the online status and Tier 1 claimed that the interview had been scheduled - she just said that Tier 1 is just customer service, she is the officer so has the ultimate answer.

I searched and found a few (rare) examples of husband and wife interviews being on different dates, and also example of online status being behind, but I've not seen examples of the online status being wongly "ahead" in the process.
