congrats to all the red names :)

its been 40 days since they sent us 'in line' - and nothing scheduled.

Not that we care as we have no travel planned etc, but still - it feels bad to be waiting.

We just received a txt message that we have been moved to 'In Line' for an interview. Guess we are moving more slowly in the process. Can someone change our In Line date please? 11/16/15

Sigh...

Well, it's Official....I passed and was approved right then and there...what a relief!!

Arrived about 9:55 for a 10:30 appointment, made it through Security without a hitch, which is a good thing.

Sat in the Waiting room for about 10 minutes before I was called in by a very nice Female Officer, she was very polite and friendly. After swearing me in she proceeded to go over my application very quickly, from there she moved on to the Civics questions of which I answered the first 6 correctly...the whole Interview lasted maybe 15 minutes?

1) During the Cold war what was the main concern of the United States?

2) What is one reason the Colonists came to America?

3) What is one right or freedom from the 1st Amendment?

4) Who is in charge of the Executive branch?

5) If the President can no longer serve who becomes President?

6) There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

She made me read "Washington DC is our Capitol" and I had to write "California has the largest population"

Going over the app and questions took about 5 minutes and she handed me the N-652 stating I had passed the Civics/English test and the "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval....the rest of the time she asked me to write down German greetings and Holidays and include translations for some kind of Greeting board they were putting together...seemed a little odd to me but I did it anyways....(has anyone ever heard of this?)

I left the building about 7 minutes after my scheduled appointment time.

Bottom line is the worst is over and I'm looking forward to seeing my status change and receiving my Oath letter.

For all those still facing the Interview please don't fret over it...as long as you know your application, have studied the Civics questions and have a good grasp of the English language you will be fine!

I will be keeping my Fingers crossed for everyone here and if I can help in any way please let me know.

Well done! Mine is early on Thursday; I'm feeling confident enough (in fact I'm more antsy about getting there on time, than the actual interview itself). As for going over the form, I take it I don't have to memorise the exact dates of trips made outside the US that I wrote; I put a couple of weeks in the UK for both 2013 and 2015, but don't want to have to commit the exact dates to memory.

There's that smell again...

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I had my interview today and that even though it went well I was given an RFE (form N14) for two reasons.

1- List of trips outside the US: I had listed my trips but there just wasn't enough space on the actual form to put the trips I took with my previous job (I was a flight attendant). My airline was exclusively flying from NY to Paris so I just counted the amount of days I was in Paris and I attached all my rosters with all the flight numbers, which showed the dates I left the country and the dates I came back (with flight numbers). Each trip was 24 hours most of the time. The officer who interviewed me said that he needed me to include all the trips to Paris in the format of the N400 form (date you left US, date you came back...). So I'm going to have to go through all my rosters and do that.

He also asked me for copies of all the stamps in my passport which I believe I submitted with for the removal of conditions.

2- More proofs of marriage with US spouse.

I didn't resent evidences that I had already sent for the ROC. I sent documents which were issued after I submitted the ROC. The officer asked me to send proof of marriage from the moment I became a resident (so back in 2012). He wants leases, joint bank account statements, utility bills, tax return transcripts.

He gave me a month to put that together and send it. I'm going to do it but I'm a little frustrated as I thought they had all the evidences combined (from ROC to N400), but it seems that they don't.

The good thing is that I don't need to take the interview again since the officer gave me a form N-652 and checked a box that says that I "passed the tests of English and US history and government".

Anyways. I'm going to work on it but I wanted to share my experience since It seems to be pretty unusual.

Good luck to all of you!

They tend to judge each part of the process separately (which I can understand to a degree, but also think is total bureaucracy and a waste of time and paper), but to be honest I think you got a little unlucky and it seems, at least on this site and elsewhere, a lot of the time people aren't asked for too much more if the case appears open/shut; it depends on who is interviewing you.

Thanks Berty. Yes, I didn't expect it but I will do the necessary to send them what they want. Appart from the flight attendant job (which consisted in flying to France four times a months for 24hours), my immigration journey is pretty simple and transparent so I don't see why it would be an issue. I'm still with my spouse, we lived the whole time at the same place together since I moved to the US, so I don't really see how it could be an issue.

Hello everyone,

I received a msg from USCIS on OCT 2, 2015 saying that my case is inline for interview scheduling. I have not received any updates since then, can anyone advise as to how long it might take for the status to change from inline for interview scheduling to "interview scheduled" date ? I live in Ventura County, CA so I guess my file should be processed in San Fernando Valley Office, CA.

Thanks

My status was updated to "In Line for Interview" on September 17th. It will be 2 months (61 days) since then tomorrow, and I have started to lose hope that my case will be completed within the 5 months processing time that the Massachusetts Office indicates. I don't mind traveling with my current passport, but it does make me rather «uneasy» to say the least– specially because my immigration file is very straightforward, with the exception perhaps of a 160 day stay in Madrid for my study abroad semester.

That's awful. If Lawrence is backed up that much then they should move you to Boston or Albany or somewhere.

No need to memorise. I had a copy of my n400 in front of me during the interview and kept referring back to it for exact dates. I told the IO that I was going to do that before we started and he said no problem.
