N-400 August 2015 Filers

I'm in Essex County. I'm supposed to go to the Lawrence field office too. It looks like they are slower than Boston. They also only do 10 oath ceremonies a year compared to 37 in Boston. They do biometrics in Lawrence but I was still sent to Boston for mine. I don't understand the way the USCIS does things and I don't get why Lawrence isn't an option on the drop down menu for processing times. Let's hope they aren't too far behind.

Hello all,

I have been "in line for an interview" since September 17th– for about 38 days now. Should I touch bases with USCIS with regards to my case? It has begun to preoccupy me.

If it makes you feel any better, I have been in line for an interview since September 8th.

I know that my office is different than yours but there is people that got in line after me and that have already an interview letter.

Try not to pay too much attention to the other timelines. It is great to give you an idea but some of us will be delayed, it is just the way they work. I know it is hard at times. I try not to think too much about it. Your time will arrive!!

Congrats to the few members that got through their interview!! It is great to read your experiences.

Once the application is "in line for interview", there really shoouldn't be any action until the local office is able to schedule the interview.

Depending on what the current backlog is (and whether the office has same day Oath ceremonies), one shouldn't expect to receive an interview letter until 30 or 60 days prior to what it normally takes the local offie to process the N-400 application.

For example, on August 31 2015 Baltimore DO reported that the last case (which it worked on and completed on August 31) was filed on February 20th, 2015.

It means it took Baltimore MD DO slightly over 6 months to process the slowest of their cases.

I wouldn't expect to have my interview scheduled until late December 2015, or early January 2016, even if I was "in line" since August.

You know that some Orwellian bureaucrat or sick KKK operative hidden in Federal agency is screwing with you when your case doesn't move to "in line" status a month or more after your biometrics appointment.

Not having an interview scheduled (after "in line") is no cause of concern (IMHO) unless you near the maximum case processing time reported by local USCIS and you still don't hear anything from them.

So I was checking other N400 application groups back in february and march 2015 to determine the time line and found out that KASH2011 and mananto guys are almost all of these postings back in February and March !! Something smells fishy here ..???

Well...as you prepare for your N400 interview, one of the questions that you may want to take a note of is "Who is the Speaker of the House?" Well now beginning today it is Paul Ryan and not John Boehner.
