Congrats KASH !

I appear to be the only one who had FP in August and still not in-line for interview :) Since I am in Maryland (a Pseudo-"Liberal" State, which in modern ingo means more like super corrupted and Orwellian "Big Brother's" State, anathema to Liberal principles this country was founded upon), I don't anticipate any accountability and normal processing time. May be if I move to a more "Conservative" (aka less corrupted) State my N400 will start moving along.

It's ridiculous how much arbitrary lawessness USCIS can get away with, but I guess that's what Americans support or we woudn't have it.

Good thing is we can live and travel freely as PR's, except we can't vote, ICE still has to "admit" us at POE and under Title 50 (War powers) we can be subject to internment as Japaneese during WWII if one day US is at war with our country of origin.

I could send my app earlier (under 90 days rule), but didn't do so because I was not in big rush. As a matter of fact my spouse (who works often travels abroad for work) urged me to fill out N400 and send it. Last time we traveled together I have spent 10 minutes answering questions of ICE at airport POE in US, while she gets waived through in no time as USC (To be fair, I must add that all ICE did was asking routine ID related questions,so I didn't even mind it).

Anyhow, they have built here the hidden, unaccountable and totally averse to transparency system of processing immigration applications, which means one will never know WHY his or her app doesn't go in-line for interview (or scheduled for interview). They might take a whole year and do nothing if they want to (there is no 120 days rule until you pass interview), and no one will answer whether your app just fell off the table of slopy USCIS officer, or whether they are spending a whole year to check your background (which also often turns out to be a bogus excuse not to process application, if you judge by the number of cases adjudicated once people bring Mandamus Action in Federal Court and ask USCIS to explain the reason for extraordinary delays).

Now I know we are not US Citizens, and not all Constitutional protections are afforded to us. I know that there can be compelling reason to delay or even deny some applications. But what it has to do with jerking the chains of regular applicants , and placing the apps in-line without any regard given to when you submitted the form?

Mark my words, they will not process my application at all until it hits the time when I can actually bring Mandamus Action against USCIS, then and only then they will move (I believe they will not wait until it's been late enough for me to file the case in court).

I am not so much caring for the time it takes to process app (I would be OK if it generally took 10 years to qualify and additional 5 years to process, if tehre were legitimate reasons and purpose behind it). And , as I said above, one can live without USC certificate in US.

I am more inundated and annoyed by how USCIS feels entitled to randomly and arbitrarily process some and delay other apps, without having any liability at all to explain for reasons behind their actions.

First Amendment and separation of Church from State has a lot more to it than most of our contemporaries realize.

The truth is, the Pilgrims were Puritan fascists who were only looking for their
own
religious freedom. They were too ... independent and fanatical even for the more mainstream zealots of English and European Reformations. They called themselves “Puritans” because they were dedicated to
purifying
the Church of England of Roman influences. They
hated
Rome and they
hated
heretics, and they
hated
sinners and they really hated
witches
. Their reigning English King, James I was also a foaming Protestant Scottish witch hunter, and was every bit as fanatical as the Pilgrims were, since they were all theological soul mates. But James I actually had to sophisticate himself a bit, particularly stifling his witch-hating fanaticism when he took power in England. He had to accommodate the more moderate and educated Protestantism that then still held great sway in his English Court and Parliament. This social moderation at home however, didn’t slow him from encouraging the exportation of sharp, Puritan zeal to his growing colonies in the New World though, where raw Puritanism would be free to dominate the new society he intended to found there.

I say with very little exaggeration, that living under Puritan rule in the New England American Colonies would be nearly as religiously oppressive as living under the Taliban in Afghanistan, or Wahhabi ruled Saudi Arabia. The principle difference between Sharia Law and Pilgrim Law would be that the Pilgrims let women show

their whole faces in public. the Puritans in particular on the other hand, weren’t all that put off by the Inquisition’s tactics or even goals in and of themselves. The Puritans and many other Reformers in truth just wanted the Inquisitional zeal applied unilaterally up and down the Church ranks from clergy to commoner. They just didn’t think you should be able to buy or politic your way out of being tortured into a confession of heresy. They figured that kings, Popes and bishops and priests were just as good candidates for heresy as anyone else—the more the merrier. Puritans in short, actually wanted
more
repression and
more
micromanaging of the Body of Christ. They wanted the power to institute the same sort of fanatical purification of Christendom that the Inquisition only
pretended
to enforce, and then only selectively, often for personal, social, or political reasons. The Puritans wanted their newly cleansed Protestant Inquistition to be
universally
applied to all Christians of whatever rank. The Puritans wanted
everyone
to be beaten into piety whatever his station in the Church or society– they just wanted to insure it was being done fairly and correctly by a dictatorial theocracy of their
own
design.We read about the Salem Witch trials, some decades after the Pilgrims landed, and think that hanging nineteen men and women as witches on the say-so of a couple of snotty little girls looking for attention was a fluke carried out by an isolated, small group of inbred fanatics. We think the old man they crushed under stones for refusing to submit to their trials was the result of some abnormal paranoia due to the bunker mentality of a pioneer colony in a harsh new land. When we read about the dozens of fellow colonists they just let rot in jail for months as they queued them up for their American Inquisition, we assume that this sort of fiendish treatment had to be the product of some sort of atypical mass mental illness brought about through a bad diet and not enough sunlight. But no,

Did anybody else have their status change from "In Line" to "My Interview was Scheduled" online? It's been a week since the status change and I'm wondering what's the normal amount of time and if it's lost in the mail somewhere.

Mine hasn't changed to inline yet , yours seem to be much far advanced.

There is nothing "normal" with USCIS. Basically they can take any time to process a case, and much depends on who happens to be assigned your file.

They are an epitome of medieval arbitrariness which is banned by Constitution in any other matter outside of INA.

Some day there will be movies made by Hollywood , about how this system actually worked, with De Niro like actor in the role of an immigrant who waits 20 years for immigrant visa while processing officers are having fun trolling him (and thousands of others). Towards the end of movie, while gray haired and in hospital bed, he watches the Congressional Hearing on TV where abusers are punished and America asks for apology to thousands of immigrants it wronged for no reason (other than trolling). Just before he passes away, his grandson gets approved Immigrant Visa to his grandfather, who is posthumously honored as one of the finest immigrants America had. The local Congressman (who later plans to run for President) makes a rousing eulogy, and how people coming together can overcome any troubles. At the end of the movie one of the trolls (dressed as Satyr) is shown participating in the Halloween celebration in the midst of the election campaign of the would be President - Senator, where the troll is one of the active participants.

Anywho, since most immigrants are coming from countries where bureaucrat is a God , both immigrants and the rest of the population (who isn't immigrant and dont deal with USCIS) seem to be very content with how USCIS operates. Meek immigrants mostly out of giant fear of earning the ire of God-like bureaucrat, and the rest of the population simply because they couldn't care less about the issue that is none of their concern.

First Amendment and separation of Church from State has a lot more to it than most of our contemporaries realize.

The truth is, the Pilgrims were Puritan fascists who were only looking for their
own
religious freedom. They were too ... independent and fanatical even for the more mainstream zealots of English and European Reformations. They called themselves “Puritans” because they were dedicated to
purifying
the Church of England of Roman influences. They
hated
Rome and they
hated
heretics, and they
hated
sinners and they really hated
witches
. Their reigning English King, James I was also a foaming Protestant Scottish witch hunter, and was every bit as fanatical as the Pilgrims were, since they were all theological soul mates. But James I actually had to sophisticate himself a bit, particularly stifling his witch-hating fanaticism when he took power in England. He had to accommodate the more moderate and educated Protestantism that then still held great sway in his English Court and Parliament. This social moderation at home however, didn’t slow him from encouraging the exportation of sharp, Puritan zeal to his growing colonies in the New World though, where raw Puritanism would be free to dominate the new society he intended to found there.

I say with very little exaggeration, that living under Puritan rule in the New England American Colonies would be nearly as religiously oppressive as living under the Taliban in Afghanistan, or Wahhabi ruled Saudi Arabia. The principle difference between Sharia Law and Pilgrim Law would be that the Pilgrims let women show

their whole faces in public. the Puritans in particular on the other hand, weren’t all that put off by the Inquisition’s tactics or even goals in and of themselves. The Puritans and many other Reformers in truth just wanted the Inquisitional zeal applied unilaterally up and down the Church ranks from clergy to commoner. They just didn’t think you should be able to buy or politic your way out of being tortured into a confession of heresy. They figured that kings, Popes and bishops and priests were just as good candidates for heresy as anyone else—the more the merrier. Puritans in short, actually wanted
more
repression and
more
micromanaging of the Body of Christ. They wanted the power to institute the same sort of fanatical purification of Christendom that the Inquisition only
pretended
to enforce, and then only selectively, often for personal, social, or political reasons. The Puritans wanted their newly cleansed Protestant Inquistition to be
universally
applied to all Christians of whatever rank. The Puritans wanted
everyone
to be beaten into piety whatever his station in the Church or society– they just wanted to insure it was being done fairly and correctly by a dictatorial theocracy of their
own
design.We read about the Salem Witch trials, some decades after the Pilgrims landed, and think that hanging nineteen men and women as witches on the say-so of a couple of snotty little girls looking for attention was a fluke carried out by an isolated, small group of inbred fanatics. We think the old man they crushed under stones for refusing to submit to their trials was the result of some abnormal paranoia due to the bunker mentality of a pioneer colony in a harsh new land. When we read about the dozens of fellow colonists they just let rot in jail for months as they queued them up for their American Inquisition, we assume that this sort of fiendish treatment had to be the product of some sort of atypical mass mental illness brought about through a bad diet and not enough sunlight. But no,
that’s what Puritans did

First Amendment and separation of Church from State has a lot more to it than most of our contemporaries realize.

The truth is, the Pilgrims were Puritan fascists who were only looking for their
own
religious freedom. They were too ... independent and fanatical even for the more mainstream zealots of English and European Reformations. They called themselves “Puritans” because they were dedicated to
purifying
the Church of England of Roman influences. They
hated
Rome and they
hated
heretics, and they
hated
sinners and they really hated
witches
. Their reigning English King, James I was also a foaming Protestant Scottish witch hunter, and was every bit as fanatical as the Pilgrims were, since they were all theological soul mates. But James I actually had to sophisticate himself a bit, particularly stifling his witch-hating fanaticism when he took power in England. He had to accommodate the more moderate and educated Protestantism that then still held great sway in his English Court and Parliament. This social moderation at home however, didn’t slow him from encouraging the exportation of sharp, Puritan zeal to his growing colonies in the New World though, where raw Puritanism would be free to dominate the new society he intended to found there.

I say with very little exaggeration, that living under Puritan rule in the New England American Colonies would be nearly as religiously oppressive as living under the Taliban in Afghanistan, or Wahhabi ruled Saudi Arabia. The principle difference between Sharia Law and Pilgrim Law would be that the Pilgrims let women show

their whole faces in public. the Puritans in particular on the other hand, weren’t all that put off by the Inquisition’s tactics or even goals in and of themselves. The Puritans and many other Reformers in truth just wanted the Inquisitional zeal applied unilaterally up and down the Church ranks from clergy to commoner. They just didn’t think you should be able to buy or politic your way out of being tortured into a confession of heresy. They figured that kings, Popes and bishops and priests were just as good candidates for heresy as anyone else—the more the merrier. Puritans in short, actually wanted
more
repression and
more
micromanaging of the Body of Christ. They wanted the power to institute the same sort of fanatical purification of Christendom that the Inquisition only
pretended
to enforce, and then only selectively, often for personal, social, or political reasons. The Puritans wanted their newly cleansed Protestant Inquistition to be
universally
applied to all Christians of whatever rank. The Puritans wanted
everyone
to be beaten into piety whatever his station in the Church or society– they just wanted to insure it was being done fairly and correctly by a dictatorial theocracy of their
own
design.We read about the Salem Witch trials, some decades after the Pilgrims landed, and think that hanging nineteen men and women as witches on the say-so of a couple of snotty little girls looking for attention was a fluke carried out by an isolated, small group of inbred fanatics. We think the old man they crushed under stones for refusing to submit to their trials was the result of some abnormal paranoia due to the bunker mentality of a pioneer colony in a harsh new land. When we read about the dozens of fellow colonists they just let rot in jail for months as they queued them up for their American Inquisition, we assume that this sort of fiendish treatment had to be the product of some sort of atypical mass mental illness brought about through a bad diet and not enough sunlight. But no,
that’s what Puritans did

Congrats! Wow, fast. Boston never seems to be very quick (it's a pretty densely packed area, of course), so I expect to be waiting around a good while yet, but it's good to see people progressing.
