Hi everyone. From what I understand, before my fiancee completes her AOS package, we need to go to a civil surgeon so he/she can transfer the vaccination info from her vaccination supplement to form I-693A. However, I want to make sure she has all her vaccinations completed before we go to the Civil Surgeon (I heard they charge a lot of money for vaccinations). Can anyone give me a list of the vaccinations that are required before we send in her papers for AOS? Or is there a link I can go to, to find out what the vaccionations are? Thanks

We were told by the civil surgeon here, that my husband needs the following:

MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)

tetanus

varicella (chicken pox)

You will need proof if you have had the chicken pox before. (which I think sucks. I had it when I was in kindergarten and took out my whole class. Can I prove it? No) So, the doctor can check your blood to see if you have had the chicken pox. ($64, here in Baltimore)

I understand, but I want to avoid having the civil surgeon give my fiancee the shot because they are very expensive. If I know what vaccinations are needed beforehand, she can simply go to a local health clinic and get them done for free or at a cheaper rate.

I didn't need proof of having Chickenpox. I just told them I had had it, they wrote that on the form and BINGO it was done.

My civil surgeon was great. Did both my form and my son's for $20. No trying to rip me off, no nothing. If you live near Indianapolis and want his details, PM me.

You need 2 MMR shots (30-days apart); 1 adult tetanus AND 2 Varicella (Chicken Pox) shots (30-days apart each).

1) Check with you local health department AND your personal physician....one is often times cheaper than the other AND both are usually cheaper than getting the shots at the Civil Surgeon.

2) If you have had chicken pox, in the absence of any proven records, the Civil Surgeon may or may not accept this as proof ... but as previously pointed out, the C.S. can do a blood tither to verify (if necessary) that you had Chicken Pox.

3) You then need to take proof of all vacainations to the Civil Surgeon who will transfer this information to the Vaccination Supplement Form .... ONLY th C.S. can do this. As to get a copy from the C.S. as they place the original in a sealed envelope for your to send to USCIS!

That's the scoop!

The only test that can not be detected by a blood titre is the tetanus shot. My man just had the bloodwork done this Monday-we are waiting for the results. He had a tetanus shot last year & I am trying to get the record of that sent over. My doc said that there are a few that are on the vaccination list that do not apply to him because he is under a certain age. I will try to find the list of vaccinations required for AOS( I know I have seen it in here a million times).

Once the results are back-my doctor will give us a report & we will bring that to the gov't doc who will fill out the I-693.

here is the list

Mumps

Measles

Rubella

Polio

Tetanus and diptheria toxoids

Pertussis

Influenza type B

Hepatitis B

Varicella

Pneumococcal

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

my doc said that influenza type b, pneumoccocal and pertussis did not apply to my man!
