What POE gives the temp EAD;s for K1 Fiance visas.

i heard about JFK. If it is , is there only 1 JFK airport?

I also heard Houston gives out Temp EAD's

There is only one JFK airport - in New York, New York. And, they give the EAD. Although my hubby got his and many people do, I want to say that a couple of people did not get the stamp. I have no idea about Houston; hopefully someone else can field that one.

And there are some direct flights from JFK to major cities in Africa, so hopefully JFK will be a financially reasonable option for you. :D

The stamp they give at JFK is only valid for 90 days... as you have to wait about 2 weeks to apply for SSN and that takes about 5 - 10 days to come it does not leave long to work before the 90 days runs out... you will have to stop working when the 90 days are up and wait until you have your EAD that you apply for at the same time as AOS.. most people are having to wait 90 days+ from receipt of NOA to get this..

Just wanted to let you know that if you take a job on the temp EAD you may well have to give it up within a short time...

One more thing, you can go to the immigration timelines (here on VJ near the top of the page) and click on POE information. Some people say whether they received the temp EAD in the comments.

On quick glance, I saw one entry from February (of this year) where Houston was the POE and the temp EAD stamp was not given.

Thanks guys for the prompt replies.

i guess, we would try our luck and go through JFK. He is going to catch a connecting flight from there to BNA -Nashville int'l airport which is the closest to where i live in tennessee.

I just have to tell him to ask for it.Asking would never hurt and eh ,if it works, good news for now.

Thanks again.

The EAD Card

If you are issued the EAD Card (I-688B Document) at the port of entry it will be valid for a period of 90 days. Be sure that it contains the following information:

Your Full Name

Alien Number

Your Signature

Your Photo

Your Fingerprint

EAD Issue Date

EAD Validity Dates

Your Date of Birth

Your EAD is a very important document, if there are any errors you may not be able to get employment with it. So please be sure to check it. A scanned copy of the EAD Card is available. View the scanned copy of the EAD Card
