CR-1: Are the fingerprints and photos still required before Interview at CDJ?

I'm asking this because the letter I received from the NVC (with my interview appointment) doesn't mention anything at all about scheduling to get my fingerprints and photo taken.

Why is this?

They do this at the interview?

Do I need to get them done before the interview?

I'm confused, I appreciate any help.

Your fingerprints are done the same day of your interview. You do, however, need to provide the photos the day of your interview - they don't take them there. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply, but now, why some people say you have to schedule these "biometrics"? And even some people say they had to go to a different city where the interview takes place.

Did this process changed recently?

I'm just afraid at the interview they'll ask me "did you get your fingerprints and photos taken already?" and I'll be like "...what, what fingerprints...where.. when!?"

Step 2 of the the interview appointment letter tells you to "Review the U.S. Embassy or Consulate interview instructions," since some consulates are different.

You should go to http://nvc.state.gov/interview, download CDJ's PDF, and it will discuss the biometrics there.

Thanks for the info! I managed to get the biometrics scheduled here in my own city in a few days :)

Maybe the NVC should be more explicit about this step, since is barely mentioned anywhere but that CDJ pdf document.

Anyway, thanks.
