only submitted English nikahnama (split topic)

Hi every one,

At the time of my nikah, All we filled were only english Nikahnamas and not and urdu one. We submitted the English nikahnamas to the NVC but they sent us an e-mail in which they said they require the "original marriage certificate of this applicant". Do they mean we have to make another set of Urdu nikahnamas and notarize them and send them over to the NVC? They also said "all documents not in english OR the official language of the country where the visa processing will take place has to be translated and the translator has to include a signed statement that the translation is accurate and the translator is competent".

Now I am confused what kind of translation do they want since they already have my english nikahnama original and attested by foreign office in Pakistan. Do I have to make another Translation and send it or will the english Nikahnama work.

you need Nadra marriage certificate too apart of nikkah nama

just send them the copy of original Nikah Nama, they don't need anything else since they already have it.

I sent in origional Nikahnama and translated it myself, word for word.. then wrote a statement saying that I did the translation and that I'm competent to do so. Got that statement notarized and mailed it in... as part of the RFE response. Got approved 10 days later.

You need both the Urdu and the English version.
