That something has become more available does not mean it was on short supply. Oil has become more available as of lately and there was no shortage of it...

it's apparent you weren't trying to buy ammo lately. ..22 LR has just recently become more available - other calibers still have shortages

Just to set the record straight on a few things.

Yes - There was (and is) an ammo shortage going on in the country. For most of 2013, 22LR was not attainable. 99.9% of stores were completely sold out. Elements of that shortage still exist with elevated prices. For instance prior to late 2012, .22LR sold for 3-4 cents a round. Now it sells for 8-9 cents.

With regard to firearm values, they rarely depreciate especially military models.

You would be wrong in that assumption, but it's your money. Knock yourself out!

Google. It can be your friend.

Perhaps, but chances are the guns will hold their value better than nearly all 401K funds.

If you are talking about most modern mass produced guns, then I agree. A glock for instance will lose value.

Something from say the second or first world war will not.

Not trying to be judgmental, but do you know of any woman that has 2 tons worth of shoes or purses?

let's be volumetric, for a moment, aye?

2 tonnes o ammo takes up 3 cubic yards.

3 cubic yards of womens shoes and purses, properly stored for usage and display, is about 87 pairs o shoes and 42 purses.

This seems a normal amount o kit for (pick one):

1. any woman with money or

2. any woman over the age of 34

I hope you extend yer stuff to understand volumetric forays, aye?

I go through 200-400 rounds per practice without any trouble.. With the ammo shortage that we have seen it is not unthinkable to have this much .If you can afford it.

Given my volumetric explanation in my prior post,

I'll posit,

per cubic yard,

it's about the same dollar amount..

What ammo shortage are you talking about?

oh geez - were you sleeping the last 3 years? sorry, keep up, will you ? and no, I ain't posting any links about registering to buy ammo.

My gringo compatriots agree with me that every Ecuatoriana wife (naturalized yet or not) is genetically required to have at least 57 purses at any given time. Seriously, I can't get the T-B.-mobile fully inside the garage because of what's hanging on hooks and pegs.

you should build a shelving unit in the garage, depth of 8 inches, from floor to ceiling. Then all shoes fit, and the car fits as well. Bonus points for using wood, staining and sealing..

You sound just like my wife... She has this thing down to a science where she can look at the empty space in a boat, suitcase, trunk or box and tell you exactly how many pairs of shoes she can fit in there, including the brand and collection they came from. Of course, she'll have them paired with accessories for every single day of any trip of any length. She's a living travel packing app...

But our hope of the non-need for those was why we looked extra-CABA-ly for wives in the first place. ("This is obviously visa fraud. How do I send her back?")

Do you need some help, TBoneZ, for making a casefile for the FDNS officer? Send me a PM, happy to help !

My neighbor behind me. She has turned one of her upstairs bedroom into shoe closet. They appear to be about 7 level high and all name brand designer and mostly heels and then she turned her closet in that bedroom into a purse closet.

She has an abnormal amount of shoes and purses.........

Yes Yes, this fits the demographic I mentioned earlier, and the actual storage space would equal about 3 cubic meters. Cannot count the space inside the bedroom used for walking about, it's not part of the storage calculations.

No doubt, but 2 tons of shoes? That would be several closets full...

again, volumetric comparison... not by weight, but by volume.

Some people invest in the S&P market, while others choose the S&W market. I believe he was most likely sitting on a small fortune which would only have increased in value if any new restrictive gun laws were passed.

That's a possibility, but I'll posit, instead, that he was a retired armorer for the FBI.

I bought a nice Liberty RV 30 gun safe today. Wife was so excited. Her first comment was, my new louis vuitton will fit in there.

And you've been upstairs? Aren't you married?

Hey you - relax a bit, aye? One of the fun things about being neighborly is to get the tour, then have some ribs and beer.

Of course there was a shortage. This guy bought every last round on the market!

p.s. When people run to the stores and wipe them clean because there is a storm coming, it doesn't mean there is a shortage of food.
