i know that lots of people going to their interviews get approved right then and there...but that could have something to do with them getting their interview appts. 6 months after their NOA1...well...the ones i've read so far.

You're absolutely right mychelle. Before we started hearing of CSC AOS transfers - and it has been awhile, maybe 18 months or better - it was VERY NORMAL to wait several months for your AOS interview. As the process plodded along and those months passed, the namecheck cleared. So people got approved the day they attended their interview, got their greencard and all was well.

Now we have CSC transfers and IMHO that makes everybody who doesn't get transferred more nervous and fretful about the interview. Nobody used to think a thing of it if it was months till the interview - now people worry there is something wrong with their case just because they got scheduled for one!

That's my take on it anyway - from hanging around here as long as I have. Back when my husband filed his petition (Nov 05) we weren't even REMOTELY thinking about being interviewed till late summer 06. I think if some of the other 'old timers' were still around in the AOS forum, they'd tell you the same thing.

Most people don't get stuck in namecheck. It is becoming a bigger problem because the pipeline is clogging, BUT even those who do get stuck normally clear out in under 8 months. It's rare to fall into a scenario like ours. Please don't fret yourself - I believe your case and all the others like yours are - well - quite normal.
