Talked to my fiancee tonite after trying to get a hold of her for three days. I called her at work and was able to talk. She said go to YM and I will tell you what is bothering me.

We meet in Ym and she tells me. " I have had a change of heart and do not want to move to USA." She says, " I am scared and do not want to follow through with it." Now bear in mind I have made plans, purchased tickets, got hotel room suite and am going to the Philippines in 25

days to see "my fiancee."

Needless to say as you can see by our timeline the ####### was totally knocked out of me. Have you ever tried to cancel internet flite and hotel tickets bought thru a broker of said things?

I am just floored. I simply wrote her an email and said I hope you can look your 5 y/o daughter in the eyes when she is 12-15 and tell her you did what you thought was best. Nerissa and I have been talking about this for 4 years and now she does this.

I have no idea how she could do this to me.

I am still going to PI in March. I saw for myself that there are millions of beautiful ladies there and who knows. End of chapter, start a new one. My life is definetly a chapter book.

If she started acting strange after attending the CFO seminar, it is possible that she got spooked with the film showing about abused Filipina wives. Try to reassure her that this is not going to happen to her. I've heard of ladies backing out after attending the CFO. If you are sure that there is no 3rd party involved, just try to be understanding, supportive, and reassuring.

Use your March trip as a way to show her how much you love her. If at the end of the day, she still does not want to go through with it, at least you can tell yourself, you gave it a good fight.

I'm so sorry for what happened. You have gone through a lot, both of you did, and this sudden change of heart is really surprising. Like what PW said, since you're going back here in PI this March, see her again and maybe then she will realize everything and think about it thoroughly? Let's just hope that there's no third party involve... You're really, really close and it's saddening to see that all your efforts will be wasted. Sometimes, women need reassurances too... I think you should not just let her go, instead assure her that it's ok to have cold feet but everything will be alright once you're together...

You email her and use her daughter as a tool of emotional blackmail.

You then plan to go to the Phillipines and look for another woman.

hi kevin!! im sincerely feel sorry for you..there must be something bothering to your fiancee thats y she came up on that decision thats the thing u should find out, for sure those years your been together already would be so hard to forget...One should stay strong in a relationship if one is weak....maybe she just misses u so much like me sometimes i think stupid things in times i felt so alone & empty here without my honey... Sorry to hear that Azcactus,

This had happened to me a while ago, for me it came down to the long distance relationship thing. Some people just can't take being alone for so long, living in a virtual relationship, and/or the reality of living in a completely different world frightens them to no end. I went over there only to find out she married some local guy. In my case it worked out perfectly cause I was saved from getting messed up with a crazy woman and I found the woman of my dreams.

Best of luck to you, eventually it works out for the best.

I joined CB after this happened. I met four ladies who have agreed to at least have a dinner date w/me. So we will see what happens. Two of the ladies are friends, ( met 1 on CB who gave me the # of the other one who was not on CB) They have both agrred that they will not let me die in Manila and said they would pick me up at the airport. The only reason I did this was because I am going back to the PI. It is a great place to visit.

My book of life is filled with many chapters. As one is ended, another begins.

I do not want to lecture you but do you think that this is the right thing to date some other women? Maybe your fiancee is really scared of coming to the States (I mean it is a scary thought of being by "yourself" in an foreign country) and maybe this is maybe why whe came up with this decision. Try to talk to her and find out if this is the case of if there is another man involved.

See it this way...at least she is fair and tell you instead of go thru this and dump you after getting to the US.

In some part I can understand her because I found myself in the situation about being scared to go to the States .....
