Two bios in two weeks.

We filed separately for AOS and EAD. Now we've received bio appointments for each of them. Does this mean we'll have to pay the $70 fee twice?

Yup. Yet another ploy to make more money. With computers available and all that I don't understand the need for duplicitous fee, letters, and use of precious resources needlessly. They may do them at the same time I don't know.

I don't think there is a bio fee for the EAD.

I received two seperate bio appointments (probably because I applied for EAD after AOS) and I brought both bio letters to the same appointment and had them processed at the same time (appointment times were different, but I as pretty sure I only had to go once, and I was right). I only paid the one fee which I had already sent in with my AOS application.

The separate biometrics $70 fee is for AOS only, the EAD fee includes everything in one price.

sometimes they did not realize that you got two applications. Just go there and make sure that they take prints of all 10 fingers. (for EAD only the prints of the thumbs are taken). You do not have to pay the bio fee twice!

He went and presented both appointment letters: AOS, which was scheduled for today, and EAD, which was scheduled for next week. They did both at the same time and didn't charge anything for the EAD.

As mentioned, AOS is 10 fingerprints and EAD is thumbs. He was told that if the second appointment letter had required another 10 prints, they would not have been able to do them at the same time.

bring both of the appointment letter there and make sure they do take fingerprints of all 10 fingers and tell the agent that it is for both applications.

Usually EAD just require thumb prints while AOS requires all 10 fingers.

So this way you make sure that you do not need to come again for the biometrics.

We paid $70 for the EAD biometrics, the other was a part of the AOS fee.
