Just wanted to update this thread. We got approved today! We sent in all that I mentioned above and it seemed to satisfy USCIS. I hope others don't get a RFE for using Match, but if you do, happy to go into more detail as to what we did.

Thanks for everyone's help!

That's great news. Thanks for the update.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Can't believe this RFE came up as recently as a year ago! I just sent the application last week and since seeing this topic am now expecting an RFE regarding match.com and IMBRA. I preemptively got the email from match today saying:

"We received your request for information about Match.com's status. Match.com is not an international marriage broker as defined by the International Marriage Brokers Act. Thank you again for contacting us. If we can be of further assistance with this particular matter, please reply to this email for the quickest possible response.". We have no documentation of our early conversations on there because they disappeared after closing our accounts and we already mentioned that in the application. The only thing we have to provide if the RFE comes up is this email the terms of service.
Anyone else receive an RFE for meeting on match.com???

A lot of it seems to do with the strength of your supporting evidence, and what you actually state for the circumstances of meeting, etc.

For example, we applied, and stated we met online on eHarmony, we didn't provide terms and conditions etc.

All we provided was; 2 letters of intent, evidence showing we'd met multiple times, (continuously for 3 1/2 years with a few brief gaps), a letter stating we'd met on the dating site, then moved offline. Screenshots of our profiles, our conversations, and our text message conversations.

I mention this as I'd also convinced myself to expect an RFE as we'd not included terms and conditions, or anything stating categorically that we had not used an IMBRA website.

Also, we had indicated via the check boxes that we had not used the IMBRA services. (We had also completely forgotten/overlooked a check box relating to question 15, so were also expecting an RFE for that)

I too had contact the website, asked for a letter stating they weren't IMBRA, had terms and conditions etc all ready to go when the RFE came, and lost a few nights sleep over it.

My point is, don't stress about it, you might be alright.

That's great that you still had screenshots of your eharmony profiles and conversations! We didn't have any of that from match, just a statement of how we met. We provided plenty of evidence though of continuous communication beginning a week after meeting online until now. We also provided evidence packets of the 5 in-person meetings/vacations we've had over the past year since meeting. I'll be going to Rome again in 3 weeks. Here's to hoping no RFEs waiting in the mail when I get back!
