Thats one of the reasons why you might see that your application was "touched" several times ona given day but no change in status. The adjudicator began working it (touch), went to lunch (touch), came back from lunch (touch) and finished reviewing it and sent it off to be processed (touch). Its touched when it goes back into the que and etc...

Keep in mind everytime a file changes hands whether its signed out to an Adjudicator or some satff person, its gets "wanded" ino the system so they can track who specifically has the file. Each file has a scannable bar code. Sometimes you'd be working a file that has someone else working another compnent of the file or one of the family members. We would alwaystry to keep family members together and approve them at the same time.

I KNEW IT!!! I KNEW ABOUT THOSE "LUNCH TOUCHES"

Why doncha PM him and find out? Although I would be a little hesitant to give immigration advice over PM, as he might.

If its not too personal, pose the question(s) here and then PM him that you've posed the questions.

I tried to pm him and none to my surprise...it was full! I'm sure he was overwhelmed from all sides!

Hi Kym, what a NIGHTMARE! The fact is, I have heard of several cases being "lost". At least now you have a new petition in, and a NOA1 for it. Hopefully you will get the approval in normal processing time (within the next one month, hopefully). Personally, I don't see much help in further pursuing the injustice of the last case.

Huskerkiev has been keeping mostly silent lately, here is an excerpt from something he posted on April 15th (you can check out his posts by clicking on “find member’s posts” in his profile):

Hi Everyone.

I just wanted to chime in and let you know that I was still here albeit very busy in my personal life in preparation for my gal's arrival this summer and work.

So, yes I have kinda backed off on answering most of the questions posed to me. Its nothing personal and I will chime in where and when I can in an attempt to be helpful, but if I don't think I can contribute, then I probably won't say anything. A lot of the procedural and borderline legal type questions I don't feel comfortable answering because 1) I worked there some time ago and things probably have changed in the interim and 2) I don't give legal advice because of the serious ramifications of being wrong. The last thing I would want to do is advise someone of something only to have it slow down their personal journey. So, I hope you all understand.

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

He's still active but yeah - can understand there must have been a massive amount of pressure from other VJ-ers... esp when questions get repeated as they tend to! It's not so bad if there are a load of people but when it is just one... bless :)

Congratulation!!!! I hope you get to see your fiance and her daughter soon here in the US.

I have a question while completing my I-129F for my overseas fiance. My ex-wife & I had an incident 9 years ago where I did not do anything. But my ex-wife had framed me with the police and had me arrested for something which I didn't do. But when I went to the court, I was assigned to do some anger management class which I completed. My lawyer told me then just go ahead with the diversion program and that is all. No one wins anything should I go after the police dept for framing me for things I did not do. There was no fights or anyone gets hurt physically during the incident. Nevertheless, there was a police report on both myself and my then ex-wife.

My question is that the I-129F asked for prior DV cases, if any. Would this anger management class consider an instant RFE? Other than this, I am a professional with a clean record. Please help??

Dear HuskerKiev,

I really liked your account of the what goes on at NSC. I'm not sure if you are still frequenting this forum but if you are I would appreciate if you could answer some of my questions:

1. I have told by NSC IIOs on the phone different statuses about my pending employment based I-485 case. Name Check pending, under extended review and lately going through internal security check. Do you think all of these terms are one and the same thing?

2. Is it possible that if the case hasn't been assigned to an officer but going through the so-called checks I mentioned in Q#1 above?

Thanks

This seems like a dead thread, but I found it interesting what you say in #1. I was told those exact same terms different times I called about my I-129f In dec-feb. I also wondered if they all meant the same thing or if they were each different steps my case was going through. I never found out, but my case was recently approved and I got no RFE so all is well. Perhaps they choose files at random & put them through these steps to train new officers or just do it randomly as a spot check. I don't know. I just know that I have nothing in my past to warrant such scrutiny.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

This is my first post so don't flame me for protocol or if I say something out of place.

I joined VJ because of two reasons. First, I just sent off my initial I-129F packet to NSC for processing and 2) I used to be an Applications Adjudicator (Immigration Officer) at the NSC (2003) so I thought perhaps I could help out someone with any questions they have on how the NSC operates. Or at least the part that I worked in. Some of the processes are the same regardless of departments. I'd be happy to give you as much info as I can as there aren't any real secrets and since I don't work there any longer I can speak about it.

As for my K-1 journey, to make a long story short, I travelled last summer to Kiev and met a wonderful woman (and her daughter) quite by accident. We spent a lot of time together during my trip, fell in love and the rest as they say is "history".

We finally got around to compiling all the docs and as I said, I sent them off to NSC yesterady so I guess I fall into the February Filers category. I hope to have her and her daughter here by August (hopefully)!

So, I make myself available to anyone who has questions about the Nebraska Service Center and its quirks or the BCIS as it were in general.

Finally, to answer a question that some of you might be thinking - "no, I can't do anything to help you specifically with your petition. Just like I have to wait in line with everyone else on mine also. Yes, i still have friends who work there, but its againstthe rules to do favors and can get a person fired. And I would never put my friends in that position." But I'd be happy to answer other non-specific questions as I can. I don't know everything but I will try to help where I can.

Thanks.

D.

Please post any new questions in a new thread. The OP no longer participates in this forum.

Thank you!

Do you think HUSKERKIEV would know if there's a February Filers thread?
