Welcome to VJ Huskerkiev, and thank you for sharing all this info with us. You may or may not have the answer for my question but please tell me what you think is happening here. I had an IR-1 interview at the Montreal Consulate and the interview went well and I was told I would get the visa the following week. This did not happen and when we contacted the consulate we were told to wait 2 weeks. Now what I think is that I am stuck in Security Clearances but isnt it strange that I was not given any information after the interview that it would take longer then a week. What do you think is happening here? Thanks again for all your feedback.

HuskerKiev may have thoughts on this but remember he was a USCIS adjudicator (which is a part of the Department of Homeland Security) for a while and your question is regarding what happened at the Consulate which is controlled by the Department of State.

Yes I realize he may or may not have anything new to add to what I already know.

Pri,

NOA1s have been taking up to a month to generate inside the US.. you need to add on (hopfully) time for your NOA to get sent abroad. If you provided a US mailing address, it may show up there, of course.

Ok then, as long as I'm not the anomaly...it just seems that everyone else around me is going faster..... I will just have to be more patient. :clock:

Dear D.

Wow it feels like having a celebrity in the house. Anyway, here is my dilema. (Since you offered). I sent out my I-129 (as you are now familiar with, congrats by the way), it was sent the 23rd, received the 25th inTexas sent to California and today March 13th I get the notice in the mail with my receipt number.

Ok, here is where it's ugly. Over this weekend (after having sent the file in) I read on VJ to double check the dates, because there is a new I-129 and the old one expires on Feb 18th.

I, of course assume no slack will be given for this. SHould I, A. Fill the form out and send it in before they Ask, B. Wait til they ask, or C. CAll and try to find out.

I'm heartbroken, mostly because we have (he and I) both been to busy to get this stuff done (both self employed) and when we finallly do, a lousy few days is going to sink us. And we are in California SC so ...August, September.....maybe then he will be here.

What do you think I should do D?

Hello everyone,

As for my K-1 journey, to make a long story short, I travelled last summer to Kiev and met a wonderful woman (and her daughter) quite by accident. We spent a lot of time together during my trip, fell in love and the rest as they say is "history".

We finally got around to compiling all the docs and as I said, I sent them off to NSC yesterady so I guess I fall into the February Filers category. I hope to have her and her daughter here by August (hopefully)!

Thanks.

D.

HI D -

Welcome! Welcome!! I'd say ... get ready for a long ride, but you already aware of what's happening with your paperwork. You're very nice to introduce yourself and offer to help answer questions. Thanks so much for both! :)

When I was reading, this thread last night, middle of the night, page 5 where in regards to the Congress duties towards us, i thought it surreal, it was a miracle to us, being in the dark with simple questions as to know what's going on with our petion for more than 7 months now in a wait for the NOA2; i compared that page 5 with the email we just received from a Congressman in whom we, of course, put all the faith, that it wasn't at all he did and wrote not the right thing to USCIS to inquire about our petiotion, on the contrary, he seems he jeopardized our chances. Totally. So i thought it was appropriate to say here what this type of help creates of effect on us, it's important, necessary. Now, because of that so precious info, on page 5, we took other steps, and fortunately had infos of what's going on in Vermont. we got transparent, simple feedback, and hopefully more next week.

Million thanks Huskerkiev!!! especially for your generosity, nothing was obliging you to tell us more!...we feel more alive and humans!!! Thank you, thank you!!!
