No-show SSN, K1 AOS paperwork

Good morning,

My husband arrived and we were married about a month ago (hurray!!!!)

We applied for the SS card 10 days after he arrived, and they said it would be 2-3 weeks until the card arrived. It's now been 4 weeks and I am not getting anywhere by calling/going into the SS office.

We need the SS# pretty badly. Does anyone have any recommendations? Is 4+ weeks par per course?

Also, we've been holding off sending his AOS paperwork until we get the SSN. Would you say to hold off or send it without? My husband legally changed his name on the marriage certificate, dropping his second last name. I'm not sure if that would complicate matters.

Any help is appreciated!

No need to wait to file AOS. No SSN necessary. Send the paperwork off. And him legally changing his name shouldn't affect anything. Just make sure the AOS has his (new) legal name.
