FInally got EAD after 134 days...

Our EAD and AOS applications were received on 10/10/06. We got an RFE for I-485 on 10/23/06 and thanks

to efficient IRS (they took a MONTH to send Tax Transcripts but claim to do that within 10 bus. days), we were only able to reply to the RFE by 11/30/06 (thats when USCIS officially received it). The irony is that everything was included in the application anyway yet the RFE'd us!

At a recent infoPass, we were told that our 90 day countdown for the EAD didnt actually start until USCIS received the RFE on 11/30/06.

So, finally today we got notification that they had ordered the card production for the EAD.

But thats not it, we have received YET ANOTHER RFE, this time from CSC and guess what, its for Affidavit of Support I-864 AGAIN! We can't believe this is happening...

Ofcourse we are relieved to get the EAD but so mad at USCIS...

Claudeth got her green card two months after her EAD so it was a big waste of money for us to have applied for EAD.

I'm so sorry to hear all this happening to ur AOS. We were in the same position with the first IRS and I hope that U still remember when we emailed each other and also chat about the first RFE? Well I sent my Rfe NOT later tan like 3 weeks after I received it and after that was sent an interview letter in december for at interview this feb. It went so well, just lasted like 5 mins and that was it. I now have the green card. So just to let people here know that it is not always fast to be sent to CSC, sometimes it even delay the whole process. reply me and I will tell U more about my experience if U want to know.

Have a nice day. I hope that U have receieve ur EAD card so that U can start working here in the united states, atleast that will help take the AOS off ur mind for some time when U'r busy working. holla back at me when U can okay!

isn't odd that although people get rfes for their 485, many of them are still getting interview notices on time? you would think that the interview would be delayed because of the rfe and not the EAD be delayed, since the rfe wasn't for that.
