I'm trying to apply for a State ID here in Washington State under my married name. I don't have any other ID that has my married name on it and I really really need one for licensing (not driver's) requirements by the end of August..

History: I tried to apply for a SSN after getting married (about 1 1/2 mo before visa expires) but the SS office sent me back a letter that they can't issue me a number of card right now because it's already 2 weeks before the K1 visa expires. I was supposed to apply for a ID after getting a SSN but with the mentioned event, I cannot. I also just submitted my AOS EAD AP last July 2 and won't be able to get the EAD until October.

Present: So I went to go to the DMV office by doing the process of getting a state ID without a SSN. I applied today with my Passport and Foreign Driver's License. They were okay with it but can't process it under my married name since I don't have my marriage cert with me. They said it's fine and at the meeting i could just bring the marriage cert and change my name at that time. They took my photo and gave me a yellow paper which says "Residency Application Process" and that I will receive a form in my address in about 2 weeks.

My question is:

1. How long does it take to get this letter from the DMV?

2. After mailing back the form, how long before we could get a meeting with the DMV to review the residence address?

3. After approval in the meeting and being able to meet the requirements, how long does it take before they can issue you an ID Card? Do they give you a temporary state ID card same day?

Any reply and sharing of experiences will be much appreciated! Thank you!
